Why would we pay a fee for a player to give him a 1 year deal and with these loopholes in off shore retirement funds being closed plus poor exchange rate, how do you expect us to fund the purchase of Cooper Cronk. Clutching and straws comes to mind.

Both have very good positional sense.
Both back up very well.
Both are safe under the high ball.
Whiting is a better tackler.
Briscoe is faster.
Whiting has better handling skills.

I'd say they were pretty much even. They are both good solid fullbacks who will rarely (if ever) score spectacular Slater-esque tries, but equally will never let the side down.

Are you trying to say that (hypothetically) if hull fc were in the challenge cup final, and you had a choice between Whiting and Sean Briscoe for our full-back then you would find it a "tricky" decision??!!

sean briscoe is a full-back, richard whiting is a utility player. players have good and bad seasons. last season was poor for sean briscoe by his standards but it has been no different for Berrigan at FC, by Berrigans standards. and you can't then say that Scott Murrel is "on par" with Berrigan at hooker because it is a load of bollox!!

The bigger debate is Whiting vs Tansey as it's debateable whether either are FBs!

He may be a f/back but last season he was a [upoor[/u f/back, and based on what I saw if hypothetically we where in a position of ccup and choice, it would have been a tough call!!..
