As expected we play Huddersfield at Magic (in Newcastle) on Sunday 4th May.

Much stronger lineup of games and fan bases on the Sunday this time, we are on 1st before Wire v Wigan then Cas v Wakefield.

first game on the sunday at magic means no hanging around after atleast

each club releases their opening home game on weds evening, so we will know who are first 2 fixtures are before the full list then next morning

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if we played Leigh in round 1

Can't see it this year with us only playing them twice but we'll see! The derbies would be over for another year in the middle of April

With us starting the season proper in the cup, so far we're looking at...

1st Feb: Friendly v Cas (A)
8/9th Feb: Challenge Cup v lower league team (A)
14/15/16th: League game (Probably away with us starting at home last year)
22/23rd: Likely first home game of the year

Think our loop games are Wigan and Leeds (?) at home; and Warrington and Cats away. So presume our first four games will include a combination of those games.

Goole or York away in the cup be good

York would be ideal, not sure what the practicalities would be if we drew Goole away surely too small to safely host an SL team? Then again if it was switched to the MKM the TVs are so awful the game may need to be moved to Currys for better visuals

Hmm not the worst but not the best, maybe now we have money we'll spend a few days there as a mini pre season camp?

That should mean in Round 2, we’ll be at home to Wigan or Leeds, as based upon last year when the loop fixtures got played first. Hopefully in Round 3 we have Wigan (h) or Warrington (a), as they may have jet lag following their Las Vegas trip.

Hope the NRL players are a bad influence in those Casinos. Wigan no problem though we beat them with ease last time at the MKM

Easy 4 points to start the season

I guess it's a Friday to give Wigan an extra day or two to prepare for the Vegas game the following weekend.

Very tough start on paper but I’d argue that’s two games you’d want early in the season

Good Friday derby at home confirmed too

We will be going for a fourth successive home win over them, I believe? Certainly an odd statistic when you consider the disparity between the two sides these recent years.
