I hope these noises coming from McClennan are an indication that Smith may actually stay at Leeds. IF Smith stays and beds in well at centre then the need to make another signing in this area dimishes significantly, leaving Watkins and Gibson to fight out for the other position.

So from that we can see Watkins can't play right centre and is a long way off yet being able to play left centre.
He's also had to move Donald from his best position on the left to make up for our lack of expeirience on the right.....yes he sounds really happy...

How on earth will I look silly?

I've commented on Bluey's quotes that he is happy with his threequarters.

If we sign another player within the next month (and there's a post worthy of a bookmark) why will my comment upon Mclennan's quote make ME look silly? If Mclennan isn't happy with his threequarters and goes out and signs one then he's given a false impression in his quotes. or he's happy with them but wants another anyway.

Do you compute?

Maybe Phil Daly told him to say that.

Gareth what coaches say to the press and what they say off press are seldom the same - if it was McClennan's intention to play Smith at centre this would have been mentioned sometime towards the end of the season and the club would not have been looking to sign Soliola from the Roosters.

The fact the intention to play Smith at centre was announced shortly after Soliola gave backword is open to interpretation.

McClennan is hardly going to come out in the press and say we have a weakness at right centre - surely.

Mclennan was pretty effusive about how well he thinks Smith will go at centre. he didn't have to use terms like represent England there.
