With all the fuse over the "Red" Carling Black Label - Red Shirt in the early 1990's, is there a market out their to introduce this as a Retro leeds Shirt sometime soon.

I wouldn't mind some of the classic shirt's but that does nothing for me!!

When they released the ’68 final replica it went down a storm because it celebrated one of the best finals ever to grace Wembley’s turf (I still have one in it’s presentation box) but this shirt, although still missing in my collection due to some b’stard with Snipe Monkey, isn’t that special or even that nice.

I’m still chasing this shirt as much as I’m chasing an original ’68 final shirt but really not that bothered about buying a replica TBH.

Sorry to here you missed the sale, but looking again at the picture, the shirt is damaged, the sleeves have been cut short.

I doubt there's a market for a replica shirt worn once, for a league game away at Halifax. Especially in non-traditional colours. Oh, and it's hideous. I had the home one in the same design. That was hideous too. In the words of Calvin Harris, this sort of thing "was acceptable in the 80s" which makes it doubly unfortunate that the monstrosity was produced in the 90s.

My old man gave me his that he had but I dont wear it because its in top nick and i'd sooner save it. Will be passed on through the family no doubt. But i would buy a re-issue one. Its quirky and different, good talking point on match days

That shirt represents nothing more than Leeds getting beat 26-8 at Thrum Hall to me. Oh and John Bentley p[iissin[/ig himself when his replacement at Leeds (Jim Fallon) coughed up possession from a scrum inside the Leeds twenty for unknown fullback David Cooper to sweep up and score unopposed.

IIRC, it was the start of Leeds' dabble with going full time which in turn was the main reason behind John Bentley and Gary Divorty being offloaded to Halifax in the close season.

No wonder Bentley loved it.

I always have an eye out for folk’s shirts so tend to notice something out of the norm but there was more than the usual in ‘retro’ shirts last night.
