McClennan needs to find a plan to beat Saints. His two from seven record is looking more worrying every time we play them. You can't take anything away from his GF win but it looks increasingly like the exception rather than the rule. As far as exceptions go it's a good one but today was a potential cup final with home advantage and Leeds were clearly second best. Even McClennan's pre match claim that Leeds would win the penalty count, turned to s[ihi[/it.

Buderus went OK overall but the weak areas of the squad were again there for all to see. These too little too late fightbacks are papering over some pretty deep cracks at the moment.

If everyone at Leeds is happy to finish second in a two horse competition then that is where they will finish this season.

McLennan is a fantastic coach and there is no question about that but i think with his record in the finals does show how he can get your players up for games. We (saints fans) will always blame the weather for those two losses and whether that is right or not he can adapt to the games conditions and use them to the advantage. McLennan will win you the important games, today you seemed very lacklustre and blunt in attack. Many players running sideways and not alot of organisation. Defensivley you held us well when we were breaking and kept us out from anything greater than 10 yards.

Buderus will come good for you, class is permanent. A few passes were off today but nothing came from them.

I was more concerned about Diskin. For the last ten mins of his 2nd stint he was a passenger and every-one else had to get to dummy half.

Buderus is clearly significantly better than Diskin and if nobody saw his metres from dummy half I would suggest they weren't watching the game.

I've always thought Diskin had a reputation above his station and was lucky to still be at Leeds. He's a limited player who tries very hard and works hard at the basics. Only on a couple of occasions have I seen anything noticable individually from him. He's like Roby without the dynamic running.

Bentham was really onto Diskin yesterday, not that that should put him off his game.

Totally agree. We just went sideways...we were far too easy to defend against. We miss Ellis in the middle of the park and i'm sorry but we are weak on the right centre. I thought Saints beat us in the backs, Gidley Gardner, Wilkin and Meli were excellent - they ran far better lines than us - their passing was tremendous and ripped us apart, Wilkins kicking was superb - ours was very poor. The scoreline flattered us. GH needs to get his cheque book out, as i said before this squad is not good enough to win anything at the moment unless it's strengthened as Saints are just too good for us at the moment.

Buderus was on a hiding to nothing in this game and its a little unfair to criticise him. He played okay today, but more importantly he is a good player and with a run in ths side, his fitness will return and he should gel with his team mates.

No, McShane should be on the bench and Bedsy starting IMO, Diskin needs to up him game.

I don't think diskin has done that well in the last couple of match's TBH and his petulance is getting more apparent.
I don't think he'll be dropped though because bluey reallly want's to get him and buderus firing and in tandem but i wouldn't be too fussed if mcshane was given the nod.

Bit harsh on Diskin given that he was trying to work behind our beaten pack and a very agressive Stains pack. He was not as his best yesterday but i hardly think sticking him in the reserves will do him any good. If DB gets more game time/stays injury free and works with Diskin and he does not improve him then fair enough but I personally think he will.

Maybe for yesterday's match mate but he wasn't "firing" against catalan either imo.
I know what yer saying though but at some point if a player isn't performing and also conceding silly petulant penalties then maybe a "rest" would send the right message.

i think bentham should take some stick for the penalties mate. diskin has been poor last couple of weeks but so have a lot of others.
he does need to up his game though. i think mcshane may play against salford though

Agree completely mate but imo we know what he's gonna be like so the player's and especially diskin who imo is doing it too often should rise above it.
We went through the same thing with smith and kirkpatrick so they should be controlled enough to leave the chat to sinfield.

after the two saints games and the HKR game i wonder if bentham has an agenda. i know bluey dislikes him intensely! to be polite about it
