Unfair on Fabulous Fiji, and Capital Conundrums by Steve MascordIN the May 2013 edition of Forty20 magazine, Rugby League International Federation chairman Scott Carter told this reporter: “The highest ranked Pacific nation (in the World Cup) will be the fourth team in the 2014 Four Nations, which is in the southern hemisphere"
I put the brackets in but I did check what he meant before doing so. That country, of course, would be Fiji. The Bati can now lay claim to being the no.4 rugby league-playing nation, having qualified for the World Cup semi-finals two tournaments in a row.
