I do think the yawning gap between rounds - and the yawning gap between the games being played and the draw being made - has helped the competition to lack almost all context. It made sense when you had one round per month leading up to the final. What happened to that idea? Anyway...

Presumably Blanctete is cup-tied, Bousquet and Pala are suspended and the injuries are as they were. Hull just in a bit of a sticky patch - competing, but finding ways to lose. Basically, I'm saying it could go either way.

Apropos of a picture tweeted by the club, the quarter-final of 2007 at Hull is still probably my fondest moment of Dragons supportership, even moreso than the subsequent semi-final.
The last 17 fit players at the club after Casty pulled a stomach muscle in training on the Saturday, early lead, Hull fightback, Jerome's unlikely drop-goal sparking a revival that secured a memorable 3-point win. It took such guts and character that it stands out above all else.

We were unbelievable all the way to the final that year. Good times

The errors came from both sides. We would have won at a canter if the attack could have put it together rather than 5 barges and a bad kick!
