With Salford, Widnes & FC all losing, the battle for 8th would appear to be alive & kicking. Indeed, lets throw Wire in there for good measure, so 7th & 8th are up for grabs.

It's gonna come down to the derby provided we take points from the Salford games.

After it being an horrendous May/June with poor results and bad injuries, there is a lot more optimism and light at the end of the tunnel.
As Stan says win the Salford matches and it become a 3 way split for two places. And a potential challenge cup semi. Not looking so bad now is it!

The dark side played cackamallabab today apparently. Radio Humberside and 5 Live both said Leeds were poor, but Hull even worse. Mistake ridden and lacking composure. A turgid game. Remember I'm only the messenger here!

The loss has come at a cost too with Minichello gone for 4 weeks minimum with a torn calf muscle and Sneyd facing a minimum 3 to 4 match ban, possibly longer, for a deliberate ankle twist on McGuire resulting in an ankle break. Ellis and Pryce carrying knocks also.

If Sneyd does get a ban the CC game next week will give Leeds an incentive for some extra aggro towards them.

Some good tries in the Hull at Leeds game. Jordan Thompson's one had some very unLeeds like defending - bizarrely apathetic.

Off a couple of wins and with a few forwards back, it all feels a bit more hopeful.

Not outraged just slightly bemused that some of your fans are saying it was either not that bad or self inflicted by mcguire. McDermott thinks it's a possible break and if it is its a real shame and could potentially end his season if not his career.

Pretty hard to condemn Sneyd to Hell solely on the basis of one camera angle as to what his actions actually caused. The disciplinary panel seem to make many sitings and cautions against players putting unnecessary pressure and stress on joints every week. So at a guess, this is one of those acid tests for the panel. On one hand they can put out a marker/statement to the competition/players and use this as an example to say this is what could happen when you apply pressure/twists etc, with a maximum grading. Then again, they could just cite/caution against what they do/don't see. In as much, player makes tackle, holds on to ankle - decide momentum plays a part in the outcome and give a lesser grading from max. Deciding player's actions were careless rather than reckless/dangerous ...

If Sneyd plays again this season , then he's a very lucky boy.

Green was suspended for the same number of weeks Burns missed, only fair if Sneyd got the same.

You can't really call any incident cowardly without knowing intent. Don't get me wrong the Green challenge was bad, but it could just as easily have been badly timed rather than malicious - fortunately I think the disciplinary panel saw it that way (rightly or wrongly)

I could scandalise the Sneyd one as being a cowardly dog act. But without knowing his mind you don't know whether he just got it all badly wrong, or that he was trying to break his ankle with a WWE-style ankle lock.

It all depends what grading the disciplinary panel set. Even if he is seen as being reckless rather than cynical he could end up getting a grade that doesn't allow him an EGP and takes into account McGuire's injury - Green was fortunate as his grading was sufficiently low to take the EGP.

Yes attack is the best kind of defence. Having said that I'm not sure what Green's foul on Burns has to do with a discussion about Sneyd's incident. I'm sure every supporter can rake up incidents to add spurious comments to a thread.

For the most part, you post sensibly, but on this occasion your desire to even up a discussion in a thread about the weekend results in which your player wilfully or unwittingly has likely caused a season ending injury to another player has really got the better of you.

You really are clutching at straws if you have to drag up an incident more than 2 months ago involving one of ours in the context of this weekend's results. It means that in my mind and probably many others on here, you've completely lost the argument and any right to be taken seriously in future.

Alot of fans wont agree with me but having seen the sneyd 'tackle', i really dont think it looks as bad as every one is saying. Yes he may of copped a bad injury, but it was slow down tactics, an i cant imagine he went in with the intention to cause serious damage.
