In fairness, the op is a bit derogatory to Widnes.
Widnes have a very good crop of young players and were one of the form teams towards the back end of 2013. I think along with us, Hull, Catalans and Salford they will make up part of he group competing for he remaining play off slots.

Most teams have a good youth systems now the only 2 at Widnes that stood out to me was jack owens and Adam lawton and i think cas and Bradford (if they don't lose anymore players) will finish above them

Joe Mellor was probably Widnes' stand out player IMO last season. Not sure which club he came through at.

People seem to forget he had a very serious neck and head injury when playing in the NRL

Mellor came through wigans youth most of there team have played for Wigan at some point

TBF to Phil Clarke this is probably the most open Super League season going. I expect Hudds and Leeds to be the front runners due to less disruptions then everyone else. I think Wigan and Wire will initially struggle but find there feet come the end. I see us, you and Salford in the battle of the rest.

He is a strange guy, he goes with what is topical, if Rovers are winning a few games we'll finish top. If we lose the next couple after that all is forgotten and we are down.

Whereas someone like Brian Carney at least understands and takes things into account.

For the record, i think we'll finish top 8 fairly easily. There is London, Wakey, Cas, Bradford, Widnes and FC all (in my opinion) with weaker squads at the min). Salford are unknown but they dont have a squad squad yet i dont think, just a solid first team.

Saints should go well. Wigan might struggle and i think Wire will struggle, no Briers or Hodgson is a loss. Hudds will win the league, all depends on knockout from there for the GF.

I like the fact Mr Clarke rights us off, more to push back his way when he is proved wrong.
