If Morgan doesn't play Taylor on fri he needs his head testing, netherton is great at tackling but to me is virtually none existence in attack

| why change the team unless someone is carrying a knock if the same 17 can manage to overturn wigan then the momentum going into the derby could be crucial..

i doubt it, he certainly doesnt do enough tackles to justify being in the team for his defence IMHO

| Taylor averages about 15 tackles per game whereas Netherton averages about 23.
But then again Netherton averages 5 metres per carry whereas Taylor averages 8.

| Netherton is averaging 23.5 tackles per game. Taylor averages 15.6 but in two less games then Jason, Scott has broken two more tackles and made 53 more meters. Netherton makes on average 5.6 metres per carry when Taylor makes 8.4.
So does Justin want a more defensively sound player in Netherton or a more attacking player in Taylor?

Is it really as clear cut as Netherton coming in for Taylor? Morgan has long been known to use his 19 man squad as a way to try and play the old mind games. Highlighting Netherton the way he has could just be another ploy.
Either way, IMO - we have to go at Wigan and that would involve playing Taylor over Netherton, if that’s what it came down to.

| Maybe Morgan listens to his players too? I know for a fact players like having Netherton in the team, they can rely on him to most of the time make a one on one tackle and often win the ruck. He may not make many meters but he does as he is told and the players know that he is unlikely to offload or make many meters so can plan a play around that. When playing with players that may or may not make a break I bet it is harder to plan plays that could gain us yardage or points?!
I personally wouldn't like to see the team changed but then a week ago not many of us were fond of the idea of Hall being dropped but how many have complained since??
Against Wigan we are going to need strong defenders who talk well and can organise a bit better especially when dealing with elusive players like Tomkins. I'd like to think if Netherton were to play he would be given the task of keeping O'Loughlin quiet because as noticable as Sam Tomkins is out there in previous games it has been killer passes out wide by Sean that have killed us especially out to Richards.

Just becasue we won doesn't necessarily mean the decision to drop Hall was right, and in my view it wasn't right. There were far too many changes in the side to conclude that we won because Hall was dropped and even those changes ignore the effect the oppositions mind set, team selection and strategy had on the game.
At the moment I would have Hall in for Webster every time. I would like to say otherwise, I really would. I would like to see Webster tearing up defences out wide and reallly smashing into the opposition, he's a big powerful lad, but he's just not doing it I'm afraid.
As good a club man as Nevo is, I think when he comes on the opposition must mentaly relax a little knowing that Rovers attacking threat is lessened. Defending a lead with 10 minutes to go, he's your man, but against Wigan we won't win by out defending them and if we can get a few points on the board they are prone to losing the plot and giving away penalties. Give them a lead and they'll relax and romp away with it, keep with them try for try (or get a couple up on them) and they will crack.
Come on you Reds!

I know its all about opinions and everyone is entitled to their own but Webbo is defensively very good (when played in the centres), he is positionally good and offers power in attack. I want Craig to do well and think he will but whilst Jake and Welham are fit I don't think he should get a shout. We are a better team with Webbo in his centre berth.

| apologies for slight O/T but I can't see your 19 man squad as I'm not registered on your site. Is Hall back? Was suprised at the dropping of him, but then it proves that I should go no where near coaching a RL team!!!

| I would deffinately say Webster has been influential in attack, at Warrington he was cutting through them but just didn't have the support play, he has a good change of direction too which always baffles defences. Hall is a good player I really do think he deserves to be a contender but ahead of Webster there is no way he deserves that just yet.

His first few games in a Rovers shirt he was outstanding, with many suggesting he may score in every game that season, looked likely at the time!
He seems to be getting back to that form. Battling to keep his position? Securing a contract renewal? You highlighted his prowess in attack, in recent weeks his defence has been useful too.
