Why would I make the Pork Pies from the butcher in Preston whose wife makes them? Do you think I am his wife - he's about 75!

However, her Pork Pies are, indeed splendid. She must have a very special flick of her fingers when she rubs his lard and fat into the flour.

All wrong. That's a Melton Mowbray which is cured pork, a proper Yorkshire pork pie has pink meat.

Beans on toast & a glass of rose,(can't do the squiggy thing). I know how to live.

Much as I enjoy working, I am looking forward to retirement. Mortgage is paid off in 8 years, reckon another 10 years at work after that. Imagine how blooming excellent it would be:

Annoy younger people deliberately by going to town on a Saturday and bagging a table in a cafe whilst everyone else queues and then has nowhere to sit when they've bought their food, whilst deliberately avoiding eye contact.
Go for a shampoo and set at the hairdressers every week and sit under one of those driers
Complain about everything in an inappropriately loud voice
Actually look forward to a bit of gardening
Buy those hideous Mail on Sunday style ornaments and pay in instalments
Park a Yaris across 2 parking bays in the supermarket but pretend not to notice
Have one upmanship convos with other oldies about medical ailments/appointments and minor surgery.
Wear a smart hat.
Get to indulge grandchildren and hand them back out of control on sugar
Visit places you know you like on holiday

I actually already do some of these, but think definitely some aspirational lifestyle choices here.

Nonsense. I order mine from a yorkshire butcher in Newport nr gilberdyke every year and its definatly a square 2lb pork pie. Just add pickalilly.(sp)
