Paea possibly missing would be massive blow (for him and us) and could be the tipping point. But we've gone into a few derby games as the favourites on the back perceived/expected forward dominance. Yet, come game day it's been a complete different story.

Forget the forward battle for now, we need to combat Hull's effective scooting, kicking and territory tactics. If Hull are effective in these areas, they can be pretty hard to break down. For us, controlled discipline around the ruck will go a long way to helping our chances.

Aye, shutting Houghton down is a major priority, he usually kills us in derby games.

I think the team which has the better kicking game will win this one.

Dobson, in the past has really punished Hull (and other teams) with his all round kicking game.

Holdsworth and Houghton are both on form with the boot.

In fact, given the history of derbies and the total unpredictability of them, i think i will resist the temptation of having a bet on this one.

You'll be hugely more up for it than us. Like us against Warrington in the semi final. We also have quite a few injuries as well.

A win would be a bonus, but frankly I care more about not getting injuries, as do our players and coaching staff.

It probably is a more important result for us - our main aim for the season is the play-offs, yours the CC final.

But you won't avoid injuries by not giving 100%. The only way to reduce the risk of injuries that would affect your chances at Wembley is by resting key players. I think you're unlikely to that because it is a big game for you. Win this and you can maybe risk resting a few against Salford. Lose and that becomes a much tougher choice.

That's true; paradoxically I think you are almost more likely to get injured if you hold back and play differently to your normal game.

Just looked on the official SL website at the preview (or lack there of), stats are interesting. Of the last 5 derbies, Rovers have won 3, FC 2. But FC dominate in all the stats listed.

Double the amount of offloads and almost the double the amount of breaks. The only question mark is Penalties, is that given away or received penalties? Likely to be given, given that its almost 10 per game to FC and thats about Rovers average.

Seems HKR someone manage to get a result, but dont seem to be the dominant side.
