Head coach Tony Miller has named Kyle Kesik as his captain for the Dons 2013 campaign.

23 year-old Kesik is currently the longest serving member of the squad and replaces Craig Robinson who lifted both the league leaders shield and grand final trophy last season.

Second rower Robinson will be the club captain for the year with both Paul Cooke and Mike Emmett being vice captains to Kesik.

Miller said: "Kyle wears his heart on his sleeve and gives nothing but 110% in every game.

"He's a consistent performer on the field and I know he'll lead the team by example.

"Robbo did a tremendous job for us last season and he'll be a great club captain for us this season."

Castleford born Kesik will lead the blue and gold's out this Sunday for the Dons first league game of the season against Dewsbury Rams.

I agree, always plays with pride and passion (perhaps sometimes a little too much). This will be a great to channel these, and enthuse others to play the same way. We will really need this this season.

probably wrong knowing me, but i believe a club captain is considered the leader off the field.

as does most of the team nowadays

think club captain represents the team off the pitch such as events and media situations. whereas kyles will solely be on the pitch and talking to the team. i hear him often in game situations talking to the team and firing them up so i think he is a good choice. but i have heard him make quite an entertaining speech in the past so setting him lose at media events may not have been a wise choice!
