Widnes were crowned Club of the Year at this evening's Championship awards dinner.

Daryl Powell won coach of the year, Liam Finn got player of the year (great signing for Fev) and the young player of the year award was shared by Zak Hardaker and Gareth Moore. Leigh won Community Programme of the year.

Seriously???? 5th placed finish - defeated in the 1st playoff game and beaten in the NRC final???

Depends what it's based on as it fees say 'club' not 'team'' which is a clear fundamental difference... Only side to run a youth academy (full) as well as community etc, also just posted one mill profit so in that sense makes a lot of sense!

I agree and Terry Oconnor said what he thought of the first teams efforts.Some players have to look at themselves.I feel next year we will be in the top 2.

It makes you wonder whether, or not, I can’t read and what it really says is that Widnes are team of the year?

You see, every time I read it, it still says club. I haven’t seen another club which can match what we have done on many areas around the club, which moves a club forward and improves it. Yes, we didn’t have a great season, but that’s why we’re not going to be the team of the year, and pick up the Championship Grand Final Trophy, which the team of the year will pick up as a reward.

Except it's now 7 pm and there hasn't been

As soon as I read the bulletin, on the official website, I knew there would be a dummy spit on the Leigh board.

I always look on other boards before my ' home ' one , too easy to get bogged down on ours as it is busier than most of the others

I made the mistake of venturing on there to try to reason with them the other day. They've already made their mind up about us. We're collectively arrogant. I've supported Leigh in the past when people have knocked them. Wont bother doing it again.
