Coyle to rotate at Hooker with Hulme, we have no other choice, this is also dependant on Webster being fit.

Given that we have been playing a prop with a broken hand you would think that both of the above are well off the radar.

For what it's worth the reserves had their game at oldham called off last week too which just compunds things. They still havent had a game since the Northampton friendly.

Id imagine Jack Smith will be the enxt in line for gametime given that he has dropped back to the 18's and is playing prop whilst the reserves aint had any games.

Hooker wise im not sure whether Tom Smith is still with the club but he looked handy along the way with the reserves and 18's. Other than him I do rememebr reading somewhere that Chris Lunt had been training with the first team but that may have been last season.

The suggestion of Ste Macca on the TIW wasnt a wind up either. Certainly been going well at the topd end of the amateur game but he has been part of the reserve setup previously and never got a game at that time from what I can recall. I cant comment on whether he would be up for a return because I dont know the lad.

Just seen that Wood-Hulme is now at Northampton. Unless he's just on some exchange to do with that friendly, how much of a take would it be if we went down there to spread RL and ended up losing one of our promminant youngsters to RU.

With quite a few Widnes lads at Rochdale and fairly certain Rochdale are on pay as you play deals, wonder if any of them are worth brigning back? too late for any of them to play in the cup but might be worth looking at if we are still struggling in a few weeks.

Played reserves for two years yet never got into a position to get near the first team and was surpassed by younger players like Hulme, Jack Smith etc... who went through to the first team squad from 18's.

Dayne Donoghue going to be the pick for me.

I dodnt think anybody like Phil Wood is going to come back to Widnes for the sake of half a season when he knows in all likelihood that Mark Smith would instantly command his place back and when he has evry little interest of making SL.

We could do worse than give Josh Simm another crack.
