Young centre Jack Logan has retained his spot in Lee Radford’s 19-man squad for the visit of Leeds Rhinos on Friday night, whilst Richard Horne should be fit to line-up for his final ever game with Hull FC.

Logan is amongst two changes to the preliminary squad with the youngster set to make his home debut at the KC Stadium Friday evening, after earning himself a second successive first team call up following his performance at the John Smith’s last weekend.

Meanwhile, fellow under 19s starlet Jordan Abdull also returns to the Airlie Birds squad, after impressing in a number of performances for the Black and Whites academy side which has guided Danny Wilson’s men to the Top Six Finals series.

Abdull replaces Jamie Shaul in the 19-man squad with the 21-year old full back dropping out due to a serious eye injury which he suffered in last weekend’s clash, after a ball ricocheted into his face from a kick by Danny Brough.

Setaimata Sa will miss out again after struggling with illness, but veteran Richard Horne has recovered from a bug and will return to the side for the final time, bringing down the curtain on his 16 year career with Hull FC.

I'm still here

Don't see much point in playing Thompson at centre at this stage. Season is over, leave Logan there, it is all good experience for him.

However having said that it might be better for all the young kids to play for the 19s this week in a meaningful game rather than this dead rubber.

I read the article in the HDM this morning and I've assumed that Logan won't be playing based on Radford's quotes!

Tricky one this. Should selection decisions be made based on the U19 tournament? Because that would mean dropping Abdull as well and he scored a hat-trick against Leeds U19s last time out. Drop Abdull and that means Heremaia in the halves. Or keep Rankin there, put Talanoa at fullback and bring Colbon in.

Rankin definitely to Fullback. If he's "unlikely to play both" then if Abdull plays that leaves us short of a centre. Cunningham played centre this season for London so that's a possibility. Or Logan comes in and Cunningham sits on the bench to spell Houghton. What I'm saying is that Cunningham should play.

You think we should have kept him and paid £130k to have someone sat in the stands all season? You probably thought we should have let Shaul leave to allow McDonnell to remain first choice full back.
