Sounds right. Lynn will be better for the 2 games experience but next week will be tougher than today IMO. Wakefield are always up for it big style when we play them and also this is the type of game we lose - it's easy to concentrate against Bradford away when it's an important game for cementing ourselves in 8th, Wakefield away not so much.

i'd bring Sharpy back tbh but if not I agree, whiting is a lot better option than Reece Lyne. Too much pressure has been put on him to do well. He is still really raw and doesn't seem to have anything to his game other than speed and he'll never get to show that off in this current Hull team.

You need more then just speed to make it in super league nowadays.

Like I said people 'bigged' Lyne up to be something special. All he has is pace, no strength he needs to bulk up.
But saying that he is only young but when you look at other players his age, Rhys Evans at Wire has played less than him but looks a better prospect.

Lynne would look like the next martin offiah in that wire side. Even chris riley looked good on the wing for wire and he's rubbish

People are having a go at Lynne for there two tries down our right hand side,but have a look at the replays,the first try we had the same number defenders as against attackers,but the inside defenders Turner and Obst target Elima,thus leaving Lynne having to cover Platt and Royston,the 2nd try was even worse,all the inside defenders are bunched together within 5 yards of each other,Lynne has to cover half the width of the pitch,with 3 Bulls players,there is no way he or any other winger could of stopped that try.
I think the biggest problem we have is with the structure of our right side defense,this will improve a bit when gleeson is back,but our backrowers who defend in that channel need to be more focused on there positioning when in defense.

which people bigged him up? u mean people like brian mclennon who tried putting him with a 'foster type' family so he could join leeds,reps from rovers,wire and us! Played in england acadamy team other week with all the 'other players his age' and got 4 tries and MOM. No strength? how many times is he getting turned over in the tackle? not many,and actually wins pens pretty regular! he's bulking up well,not small if u see him up close. Astounding how fast some of our "fans" are to rip people down! 18 yrs old!!!! was jamie foster of saints ripping it up at reeces age? bearing in mind foster turns 21 next month and lyne doesnt turn 19 till december! or was ryan hall of leeds killing it 6 seasons ago when reeces age? good job these lads never played here,confidence would have been that smashed and probably not be the players they are now!

The thing is, he has a lot to learn - but so he should at 18! He won't be the finished article and he will make mistakes but if he learns from them, and indeed bulks up then all good.
If not and some are still talking about him about being the next big thing when he's past 20 (a la Tommy 'do you know who I am' Lee) then that's where problems will be.

My own opinion is I don't see much from the kid. It might be too early for him but I have not seen the killer speed, a great step or the ability to beat a man. He takes the ball up fairly strong but his defence is weak and he often gets pushed off. Not seen too much game awareness from him either. I hope we have a diamond there I really do but I just don't see anything there at the moment apart from a bit of speed.

He looks a class apart in the 20's and I don't see him getting pushed around in the 1st team like some seem to. He has played a handful of SL games and has a huge amount of physical development to do in the next 2 or 3 years.

Fact is he's 6 or 7 years younger than sharp and IMO he'll be way better than sharp is by the time he's 25 yet you hold sharp in higher regard.

Unless they have some kind of freakish strength then you can't expect a teenager to perform like a seasoned pro. Personally I think lynne will come good

Plenty of players look good in the 20's but potential never always materialises. I hope I am wrong and he does well. I do like Sharp (unfair to compare them at present though) and think he has had a raw deal in many respects.

The fact I have seen nothing yet from Lynn does not mean he won't develop and this falls under the banner of giving youth it's chance which we were discussing the other day so am not knocking it.

I just don't see a rough diamond, I just see an average joe, however he is very young so maybe that is a bit harsh.
