| Agar has not has the best of luck with assistants but Webbo seems to be working out well so happy he is staying for another year. It seems to suggest that Agar is going nowhere anytime soon.

Really pleased for him, great bloke with very good tactical knowledge of the game. Pretty certain he'll be a successful head coach in the future.

Agree. Both Agar & Webster are now contracted up to the end of next season. Our recent run of results coupled with this announcement seem to indicate to me that it is the board's intention to keep the current coaching set up in place for the duration of their contracts at the very least.
If this is the case, as seems likely, then I would hope that the board have spelt out what they expect of the team over the next 18 months. Having shown great patience with Agar over the last three years, providing funds for team building and giving him ample opportunity to prove he is capable of delivering, the board (and supporters) are entitled to expect some return on this investment.
If this is the board's current train of thought, then they should tell Agar (in private at least) that he will remain as head coach for the duration of his current contract, with his back-up team in place, but that the board expect our club to be top four by the end of next season and at the very least be challenging the game's true elite. By spelling out these parameters, Agar will know what is expected of him and his team. The board should make it clear that failure to deliver these terms will result in the club looking at alternatives in order to achieve what this club is more than capable of delivering.
By October 2012, Richard Agar will have had four full seasons in charge. If we are still languishing in mid table at that point, then surely it will be time for a change in what is the single most important position in any football club.

Hopefully the board will finally have to accept this if (or indeed when) Agar has still not delivered despite all the backing they have given him and the players at his disposal. That would at least be a silver lining.
