Sorry if I've missed any previous topic/discussion on this, but has there been a final decision on whats happening with next years event yet ?

Nothing officail AFAIK but if I were to guess, then it will be a season opening weekend at the Millenium Stadium

We should be expecting something offfical as they said in june that in july they will come out with the details of where/when.

only one place to hold it and that is Cardiff, a city made for rugby!!
However an idea is being muted to hold two days of matches at Wigan and the same at the KC so the day is split between two large venues catering for teams local to them !!
I would also like to see this as the season opener personally to give the SL a real opeing blast but for what ever reason the RFL know different but again in my opinion Cardiff is where it should be at !!

Are you having a laugh here at wigan we cant even play 1 game at the DW so to play 3/4 you got no chance in hell

I would be happy to see the Super League open in style with Bolton and Elland Road as the two venues hosting the localish teams. All live on TV letting the world know Super League is back!!!

I would try City Of Manchester stadium with saints v salford, Wigan v wire, catalan v crusaders and quins v huddersfield

With Elland Road hosting Leeds V Hull, Cas V Rovers and Wakey V Bradford.



I would enjoy a day in Leeds watching that after a long winter break.

Newcastle on the second BH weekend in May would be my preference.

Don't fancy watching 7 games in freezing conditions in January/February, thank you.

Me neither it was bleeding freezing on the Sunday and it was May

Cold enough on the saturday cannot comment on the Sunday as i was driving back but i was still warming up then

Anyone wanting it to be in February will be whinging that it was too cold.

It's all about the end of May.

I can see the appeal of a beggining of season MM and it would certainly help boost the crowds as well. But you then have the major factor of the cold weather. However surely Cardiff with the roof closed would be acceptable, the main problem with Edinburgh was the biting wind rather than just the temperature.

What would be the point of using kc and dw in feb? May as well just scrap the thing. All football grounds will be off limits until end of may due to the prem league season and the probs they already have with keeping the pitches usable. Got to be a warm weather event or it'll fall on it's arris.
