Cooke's role presumably could be similar to that of Stanley Gene at Gateshead/Rovers. I've no problem with Cooke being involved at Hull. Very knowledgeable bloke and would be great with the young half backs coming through.'"
Pretty much my take on the Radford point, I reserve judgement on the decision to bring Cooke in though.

| Quote ="Mrs Barista"IMO to some extent the Huddersfield result is an irrelevance, albeit a humiliating one. The big question is whether, on all the evidence available so far, Gentle is the man to deliver AP's ambition.'"
If he's lost the dressing room, no. '[iHas[/i he lost it and if so, why?' are the critical questions, particularly the latter one, as the answer to this will give Pearson the clues he needs for his overhaul of the first team set-up.
If Gentle hasn't lost the players, which looks doubtful, his sacking could be throwing the baby out with the bathwater at this stage.
Is Humberside still claiming AP hasn't made his mind up on Gentle, yet?

Totally agree, however for me Radders has been part of the coaching set up so I am not sure what evidence there is to suggest he can change that problem.

Exactly. Particularly if he's part of the problem. I'm very worried Gentle was left high and dry in the last month or so of the season by those who should be most loyal to him.

| Well it all looks positive to me. When Gentle was appointed we all went mental about how great it was going to be (me included) and its not turned out as we had predicted. So all the negativity towards the rumoured incoming team can only be a good thing I reckon.

Exact same thing happened with Agar, the lads all liked him (suppose it is easier for the 2nd in command to build that buddy relationship).
They may all like Radders now & indeed decide to play for him, however once any-thing goes wrong & he has to become a leader and it upsets one of them the same boil will re-emerge!
Lots of people saw Radders down Prinny Ave last night with several players, & I believe he was in Blackpool with them, O'Meleys wife put on f/book that he had been on a 3 day bender. Not the best start for a head coach of a SL club, very much what a National Conference League team do and that is exactly what Radders was.
Radders was trainer until Hay parted company a few months ago it was only then that Radders stepped up to 2nd in command so in essence he has even less experience than most on here are claiming.

| So we have another players revolt to support their drinking buddy getting the job ?
The number 2 coach who must carry much of the blame for performances ?
Judas ?? FFS the man should not be allowed near the club - he damaged us massively for several years.
Local talent ? Oh yes cos Superleague & the NRL are littered with Hull born stars...............aren't they ?
And we dont want any more aussies cos they get paid the big bucks & behave more professionally.
I suggest we keep PG and show the door to those causing this unrest - players & coaches. Give the man a chance - he must be amazed at such an outrageous coup perhaps succeeding. A bit like the French revolution this - will we drive out Miller, Holdsworth & McDonnell as part of the purge ?
Absolutely gutted & at times like this I really hate being an FC fan - it really shouldn't be this hard.
IF predictions come true I will withdraw to my Premier Sports NRL next year - light years ahead of the SuperLeague poop.
Come on AP do the right thing - biggest decision you will ever make at FC.s

| Let us not forget the Crookes court case when Radders was cited as sending 23 txts to the girls father, no idea what all that was about!! maybe he was trying to help out one of the lads but to be quite honest I would want my head coach taking a different course of action!

| If any other club in Super League (or even the top half of the championship) had a head coach's vacancy, does anyone seriously think they'd be considering Radford for the post? We need to get the best man for the job, and not select a candidate based primarily on the postcode they happened to be born in.

Grim reading. If all this is true Pearson must be mad to go through with his appointment. It would definitely suggest that Radders is far, far too close to the people he's supposed to now go on to manage and instill discipline into. It would also indicate that if there is a player power issue, Radford was right there in the middle of it. If true, the last thing he deserves is rewarding with a Head Coach position.
I've already said I like Radford and I think he has the makings of a good coach - he's already demonstrated he can teach and instill skills. It's just.... all the rest of it. Too soon and too close to the team. Wish he was returning as a proven detached manager from elsewhere, not a newly-promoted 'one of the lads'.

Totally agree he does indeed have the potential to make a top coach, for me he should go head coach in Championship to cut his teeth & understand the full role. I really respect the guy and think the stuff he has done in the community is fantastic, however he is too close to all the problems at the club and the role should go to some-one totally unconnected with a lot of experience in sorting this kind of problem out.
Personally I would be happy to put up with a few more years of crap if I thought that we had the person who could really go through our club and solve this te once and for all then build from there.

| Its all only rumours at this stage but it looks increasingly like we are going to get the "dream team" (or nightmare scenario) of Radford, Last and Cooke.
With a weaker squad and an inexperienced coach I'm not expecting much from next season. I think we'll finish 7th or 8th and we definitely won't be going to Wembley.
I'm not expecting us to be challenging for trophies and we may lose as many matches as we win.
What I am expecting, indeed demanding, is for the players to show the pride, passion and commitment they have manifestly failed to display this season. They've got what they wanted and now they should put some effort in and show they bl**dy well care as much as the fans do!

Don't give me 'it was not all his fault' it was and I for one am not prepared to have him back. He can come back but Adam that's me gone. I will not say how long I have been around cos I am only a kid and don't have any say as none of us have. We are in the same position (us who don't want Radford and his buddies) as City Supporters with the name change - Allam says its his club and he will do what he wants - AP is doing the same so this forum can go on and on but its nowt to do with us.
Just an aside I started a thread about ST going to NRL but my question was when will we find out about Tom Briscoe - No-one answered before it was locked.
