In answer to this, I would say you're naive thinking the job should be done by now.

problem with getting a back up half back,is who would really want to go to any club purely as a back up player.the obvious choice of back up is using your youth players.at least it bloods them.
if we get a utility player in as back up it is really no better then we have done recently anyway with tansey and washy etc

Im with the Brother on this. Last season we finished sixth and nearly fourth but the quailty of rugby on show was generally dire. Too many very poor performances, out in the first round of the challenge cup and also the play offs where we was beyond dire against Rovers. We struggled for halfs in a massive way and yet have we signed a replacement or back up? The thing is any half signed should being signed as first choice and not back up as Long and Horne are clearly not up to the job. Weve had massive problems recruiting as for some reason nobody wants to come here and only by paying a fee did we get Westerman and Will Sharp is a nobody who may be decent but could equally be crap.

The club is a joke at present with poor management from top to bottom with a poor chairperson, joke CEO and the full coaching set up is inexperienced and this will only change when Hetherington and co feck off and someone with passion in winning takes over and not just making money.

I agree, to an extent. But I'd say Nathan Brown, Michael Maguire and Tony Smith (top coaches) have all had less time with their respective clubs and each have remodelled their playing styles and structures to a quite astounding level. Agar has improved us, there's no doubt of that, and last season has certainly earn't him a stay of execution. However, I like many others doubt he has the ability to take us into the realms of Wigan, Wire et al.

No I'm affraid coach not good enough team to forward orientated .
No tactical kicking mind this wants training in the early teen years and at training, not the your not allowed to kick at training we use to get.

Not only First team coach not good enough hole set up needs looking at.
The team always did well against Leeds [then the money kings but since the Hetheringtons are at both clubs our team never rise to the occasion

I agree with your 1st bit but the bit about the board being a joke is way off the mark.....admittadley they have got the coaching appointments wrong since Bomber..although 2 got sacked for a damn sight less than Agar.....its ok bringing in someone with passion and running the club at a loss...like a certain Midget across the river.

I find it hard to say that the board is a joke when we are one of very few clubs making a profit, of all areas of our club, the board should be the one area we should be most proud of, as it is over performing with respect to what is happening on the field.

I'm sorry but financial success guarantees the safety and success of our club in the long term, and that is more important to me than short term success....

thats on the field i think most people on here would agree there are improvements that need to be made but of it the club are in a fantastic posistion which every supporter should be proud of, hopefully the board in the future will invest in a top coach and be a bit more ambitious in player recruitment

Personally id rather be Saints/Wigan/Warrington winning things but losing money than making money and winning nack all. Show me a good solvent club in any sport thats at the top of its game on the pitch. It just doesnt happen.

The club in a good position does me no good as a supporter, i go to watch rugby not look at the balance sheet,there isnt many sporting sides who are successful in both ??
i would prefer to watch a side play entertaining rugby and in debt then that rubbish we get served on a yearly basis

Our board have turned our club around everywhere except on the pitch. They have made money available, we are there or thereabouts on the cap so they are giving the coach every opportunity. At the end of the day the board can only do so much.
Yes we can blame the board for a lack of vision when it comes to coaches but that is as far as the blame goes with them.



So you would be happy to see us go out of existence in 10 years time or so as long as it brought us a bit of success???
