Time will tell if Agar is good enough, I am unsure myself but I actually pray now he proves people like you wrong.Kath & Rule have made mistakes along the way (Cooke, Thacks etc)..however from where our club has come from in the dark days I take my hat off to them, our club is one of the only ones making a profit, our season pass sales are amazing, like I have already posted the only area we need to improve now is challenging for honours, a tough ask considering there are only 2 trophies and 14 teams, however I believe that will come. A lot on here complain about our style of play well so far 8000 are not that unhappy as they have bought passes, the reason for this is most people recognise Hull FC do not have a goddamn right to win the league and the ccup

..I reckon most are happy we saw an improvement on the 2 previous seasons last year though and feel maybe there is hope ahead!

No problems with players getting piissed however they need to be aware of where they do it, who is there and what they say

I don't think that that is particularly true TBH. As a longtime supporter and a season pass holder, I would expect that decisions taken in respect to the playing roster are the best ones to enable the team to compete at the highest standard, and as one of the top three sides in terms of attendance, pass holders & merchandising then I'd expect us to be right up there. Last season the frailties were all to obvious, I was excited by the prospect of Longy donning an FC shirt and giving a performance to relish, but he did it all too infrequently, and tbf, we all knew pre-season that that would be the case. Rich Horne is shot, and its time we moved on, the fact that we won't and don't is due to the short term fix mentality of the club, if it don't fit - force it.

I cannot believe we didn't know in November that Berro was potentially off back home, if we start the season as we are now we will be mullered by all and sundry as soon as the inevitable injuries to key players begin. I do not think that it is naive of the club to have a replacement lined up before releasing Berro, and yes we may have, but what are the club saying about it. Ole JT is very quick to comment when it suits him, but has next to nothing to say to the fans as the season draws near and anxieties build.




For me that just doesn't wear, we are becoming a side of bottlers, we can't hack it when it matters. Last year we lost some matches which we should have won comfortably, and we got something out of others when we got the rub of the green (crusaders at home) and didn't deserve to, Yes there was the odd exceptional game (Saints x 2).

The fact of the matter, however, is that we finished 6th, and thats all the record books will show, we lost at home through a dismal performance against a rovers side who out-fought , out-enthused and out-performed us. There wasn't one aspect of that game that we could take any solice from, from the players to the coach, who was equally out-coached. If your happy with that level of performance, then can I suggest Mrs Agar, that your husband goes back to coaching school, because to this fan he knows feck all other than the very basics and whats more he struggles to get those over to his playing staff, who at times even struggle to complete them during a game.

Like pete smurthwaite once said we could have 13 black and white deck chairs and still have 8,000 pass holders. I don't think we have a divine right either to challenge for honours you have to earn that right and success takes time,although with a decent coach and a balanced playing roster I suspect it becomes easier. If your happy to be behind the wires,huddersfields and be on a par with hull kr and fair play to hull kr to achieve what they have in such a short space of time then thats up to you. However like you say the club do a lot of good off the field but also there in a fortunate postion because of the kc there job is a lot easier to do than say wakefield with no fan base,facilities etc. We are the newcastle united of rugby league imo and whilst kath and jimmy are here making crazy decisions like giving rich agar 2 year deals we will never challenge for the honours our support deserves. You may be blinkered and be taken in by rules spin I won't be and know there is so much more to be achieved with the right man in charge give me nathan brown,madge mcguire and day im sure they would bring attractive rugby,a decent squad,and success to the club don't be fooled by thinking we nearly finished 4th,we are a miles away from been capable of challenging the top 4

It's very difficult to be remotely optimistic about 2011 with a squad that lacks depth and quality and a "coach" who isn't fit for purpose.

what worries me about the berrigan situation is we released raynor this time last year and never replaced him.

i'm sure there will be an announcement regarding new signings shortly.

Nothing would make the doubters more happy than Agar proving us wrong. At the end of the day we voice our concerns because in our eyes he is not the man to take this great club forward. We see that with his team selections, his tactics and his interchanges week in week out and a couple of good victories or displays are not enough to change our opinions.




I am very unhappy with our style of play as are a lot of the fans i know, yet we have all renewed our passes. So saying that the 8000+ who have bought passes are happy is stretching it.




Was going to be very hard not to make an improvement really, the players we brought in were worth a few league positions alone. I think too many people just see the jump from 12th to 6th as an indication of how well Agar has done.

Oh dear! Seen many mates come and go over many years,hewbo,kitching,kev gray,jon aston,tevita,buzzer,macca just to name a few so berro no exepection players come and go it happens,although most maybe pass there sell bye date over time,rich agar has never even reached best before date time will tell but he will go down as 1 of the worst coaches this club has ever had,but judge him when he has his own team though,or it is his and he's making a right mess of it

I just think people who are so quick to make bold predictions on how bad Agar is always tend to forget just how big a mess we were in at the end of 2007/ beginning of 2008, and don't seem to want/be able to grasp the huge rebuilding project we were and to some extent still are.

Id take a guess that you know more then i do,and as for the forum i have no interest in going what so ever.

We beat one of last season's top 4 home and away, so technically that's incorrect.

It's also worth remembering that at no point last season were we outside the top 6, which isn't bad for a duff team led by a duff coach.

We also lost home and away to the other 3 in the top 4 and lost to 2 of the bottom 3. Like the saying goes, every dog has its day.

Leeds lost games at home to Crusaders and Cas, scraped a home draw v Bradford, lost away at Wakefield and had Rovers do the double on them. It's handy to pull out the games vs top 4 to make a point, but for me it reinforces the fact that we didn't actually under or over achieve last season, we were consistently not as good as the top 4 and consistently better than the teams that finished below us.

Id say that was more down to longs input in beating 1 of the top 4,funny I remember going down to wigan for a top of the table clash seem to remember been about 30 plus points behind at some stage,in fact I have a distinct feeling same thing happened at home and pat richards ripped us apart down that side guess we never learnt a lesson,in fact leeds away followed by a home tie in the challenge cup I could swear senior,hall ripped us upart down the same side guess we don't learn anything from watching videos but yes your right we did beat saints twice if thats your barometer. Then theres pokings by massive teams like quins,wakey,salford away a defeat by a team that had been together for about 2 months,a collapse at huddersfield shall I go on I can't believe rich never got coach of the year tbh along with been in the running for the england job,oh I forgot he wasn't realy that was rule telling us he was

No ones doubting he had a big job to do as regards changing the team,but he was given the opportunity to do that and the dross we serve up backs me up that were no better off with agars team as he puts it,we asked last season what was plan b when long gets injured all sorted berro,washy,tansey will more than do yet clearly didn't work and 1 year on were still scrathing around trying to find a back up half back,and in the meantime the season starts in a few weeks yet we still haven't sorted a problem area,thats what he gets paid for doing

wigan did that to almost everyone last year so were no different,and pat richards did that to everyone too .
thius year will be very different given the continuity of the squad and the new faces in and to come in!!

I have never had a problem with your opinion Hullbug..you are clearly disappointed with Agar (which is your right)..however you are the first to admit you would gladly be proven wrong,however you came on here a couple of times last season and praised Agar and the team (not often though

) you also recognise the good stuff FC have done and how far we have come.

I believe this is a very defining season for Agar, and the thing is I know as an FC fan you would love as much of me for it to be a successful season for him that is the difference between you and some others on here, plus I admire the fact you feel so strongly you put it on your shirt, my kind of person that, say what you have to say but be big enough to admit it if you are wrong...I rarely am by the way
