McGoldrick has been released by Salford, Koukash quoted as waiting for clubs to accept terms for other signings, wonder if any FC players in their sights.

This is what I think, seems that in AP's assessment a local lad will help retain some of the season pass sales that I think we'll be losing.
The damage done in that Hudds game is almost immeasurable, I mean IF we had lost but put up a decent showing then we could say we actually had a decent season (final appearance, 6th and one play-off win) one which on balance was actually better than Saints AND Leeds. With that type of loss I'm starting to think that this could have been a ploy from within to get rid of PG.

Other clubs seem to manage it without any problems. Wakefield can go and get Collis, Catalan sign Millard, Salford sign Moon, Bradford had Lulia etc..etc... We just keep giving Yeaman contract extensions.

Good wingers are all over Super League, just about every club has them but we thought it was a great idea to sign Jason Crookes on an ascending contract. He was bad enough this season but in 2014 he'll be on even more money! MAGIC!!!!

Crookes I'd be tempted to keep for 12 months and see how we go. We have cover there.

In all honesty, I'd chuck Holdsworth out and get McGoldrick. He proved he had that bit of grunt, setup some great tries and didn't look clueless in the 20. He can also cover fullback. A good, old-fashioned RL player for me.

Holdsworth was always a last minute panic-signing when Chase and Prince fell through.

Really? I was told Holdsworth was signed to play with Chase and a deal had been agreed in advance of the close of the 2012 season. And you are suggesting we replace DJ with a utility player who the team who finished with the wooden spoon have now deemed surplus to requirements?!

Holdsworth has looked so far out of his depth, it was embarrassing. McGoldrick made a lot of people (myself included) sit up and change my opinion of him.

If McDonnell is injured and wont be playing start of season, hes only got 1 year left and I cant see Shaul been moved from FB now can you? so is there any point keeping SM? Horne or Whiting can replace him if he gets injured! Just a thought. Don't want to mess around putting them in different places, stick at where their position is meant to be.

I wouldn't have Goldie back now but he did more in his few games to influence our play when signed than either of the current halves did last year with the possible exception of DJ at Hudds v Wire where he won the game for us. Goldie was absolutely battered when he signed the year before last prior to playing a game but categorically stuffed the criticism down certain people's throats with his return on the field. No world beater by any means but his attitude was spot on despite it being the biggest seed of doubt pedalled by those predicting his demise prior to him playing a game.

I though McGoldrick did well when he came! He created a few good tries!
