Mathers has been in great form this season but we already have Tansey so it would be a pointless signing, we could move Tansey to 6 and drop Horne but there are no grounds for that and I don't see it happening.

Would any of them 4 tries be the 2 against Salford that were really well worked tries? Or maybe the Francis Meli tries were he just walked all over Whiting and Turner?
Tansey has been mostly excellent this year, he is safe under the high ball and mostly catches on the full. Which shows he has good positional sense.
I have no idea why people are trying to find flaws in him that simply aren't there.

He isn't Shaun Briscoe, and therefore not a 'proper' full back in some people's eyes.

Even Briscoe is admitting that he's lost his mojo of late. I was one of the ones that wanted to keep him but think we have better in Tansey now.

Mathers has turned down a contract at Warrington so who knows

Full backs are a third pivot nowadays, all Australia's fullback are excellent with the ball in hand, the days of old style full backs like Briscoe are over.

I still worry abou stand off next season.

Horne form and injuries are a major concern.

Also long will miss a few games aswell.

Signing Mathers would allow Tansey who I think we can all see has the skills to play 6, play halfback.
