Sounds like we will be getting a player who gives 100% effort. Nothing breaking at this end yet, but I guess its not signed sealed and delivered. Still young enough to kick on a bit as a prop. One thing Betts seem to be good at is developing players and he will love Johnsons attitude! All of our young props have really improved, including Phil Joseph, who perhaps wasn't so young. The only failure was Ben Davies who had the skills but not the attitude!
So sounds like a good bit of business for both of us!

Betts likes players with a good work ethic and team players.Not signed many top marquee signing but you dont need that to be a success.Widnes will do well if buy alot of hard workers and not many teams will find it easy at the Widnes stadium.Hope he does well for Widnes.

Not good enough to take us forward. It seems over the last two seasons the club have been handing out really silly deals to average players, I assume that fell under McRae who many fans still hold in high regard, I'd question that!!

Interesting to read AP's comments in HDM about the players calling out for strong management and with Radford now in position they'll get it. His opinion of Gentle's methods must have had a massive shift since offering the contract extension at the start of last season.

I questioned the fact we seem to have a heavy reliance on people with Howes as an agent and do wonder if McRae was a little too pally with him and taken his eye off the ball so to speak.

Seems foolish for the club to limit themselves with just one agent .

McGoldrick has been released by Salford, Koukash quoted as waiting for clubs to accept terms for other signings, wonder if any FC players in their sights.

This is what I think, seems that in AP's assessment a local lad will help retain some of the season pass sales that I think we'll be losing.
The damage done in that Hudds game is almost immeasurable, I mean IF we had lost but put up a decent showing then we could say we actually had a decent season (final appearance, 6th and one play-off win) one which on balance was actually better than Saints AND Leeds. With that type of loss I'm starting to think that this could have been a ploy from within to get rid of PG.

In all honesty, I'd chuck Holdsworth out and get McGoldrick. He proved he had that bit of grunt, setup some great tries and didn't look clueless in the 20. He can also cover fullback. A good, old-fashioned RL player for me.

Holdsworth has looked so far out of his depth, it was embarrassing. McGoldrick made a lot of people (myself included) sit up and change my opinion of him.
