Precisely,i'm quite staggered by the number of people who are up in arms with the council over this. Every single time i have heared Allam talk he has come out with something ridiculous,all his arguements seem ill thought out at best. To stand and pose for a pic at welton holding what was supposed to be plans of a possible stadium development in the hope it would put pressure on the coincil could have been thought up by a 10 year old child.
His involvement with Hull City has never sat right with me,when you look at the facts,he has ploughed 1/3 of his puported wealth into a football club which is pretty much at the top of what it's likely to acheive,he'll never get his money back. His only hope was aquiring this land,It's been an expensive gamble for him in my eyes and one he's thankfully lost. I've no doubt he'll soon put the club up for sale citing the council holding him back as the reason and they'll be painted the bad boys. The swimming pool and ice rink story really show him for what he is.Go back to doing what you're good at Mr Allam.

You can try and dismiss the rest of the post and label it as an anti FC post if you like. What it was was a post script comment and in no way did it say that I thought he was. Can you catagorically say its not possible?

I don't mind a debate with opinions, conjecture and all that but it seems healthy debate is dead in your world.

I Agree with your first point but as for realising the Allams long term plans, what plans. They turn up to meetings without any. When they councilors quiz them about their plans they change their minds and I quote, "talk in riddles." (maybe thats the Eygptian in him not sure.)
Never met the bloke but what I've heard I just have no confidence in him. It just stinks of David Lloyd to me.

I try not to debate with imbeciles with a hidden agenda, they have a tendancy to drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience.

There is another aspect to bear in mind: Local Councilors are elected officials and as such they have a legal duty to husband their Council's assets in a proper manner. If the council "sold" the KC and adjoining land for the paltry sum mentioned, they could quite conveivably be held legally responsible for 'abuse in public office' charges. The penalties for which include imprisonment and/or seizure of personal assets

Fair enough, and if he has turned up for meetings without concrete plans then he has got what he deserved.
However, all of the evidence i have seen of him so far is that he has followed up his plans and put his money where his mouth is. University, Hullensions, Hull City, Rovers etc.

Wonder if he will go back to the table once the Melton bluff is over and actually offer some money. People are saying he is crazy but if he is a businessman maybe this had all just been part of the haggling process.
What process would he have to go through to get a stadium in Melton anyway? I am presuming the villagers wouldnt want it and I dont see what East Riding Council would get out of it either?

I don't think that Allam has the same understanding of reality that most people share.

Well you are of typical low enough itellect to descend to insults based on nothing more that an opinion that didn't match your own.

If you'd actually read the full post you would realise I'd agreed with most of your previous points, unfortunately you decided to pick on the bit that you didn;t agree with but it seems you have form for this kind of aggressive juvenile behaviour.

I personally wouldn't wish FC to be thrown out of the KC, it will not do the sport of RL in Hull or nationally any good whatsoever to have that happen. Allams plans seem very poor and ill thought and on this basis alone the council have done the right thing for the city by dismissing the plans.

Allam keeps banging on about "not building an extension on a rented house", just how long is the lease that the SMC (Allam's company) have on the KC? There's been plenty of previous examples of individuals and companies improving leasehold properties. all they do is seek a return on investment over the period of the lease.

What's next, "I'm not going to paint the KC or fix a leaky roof because I'm only renting it"?

Ultimately it comes down to this...

If the city of KuH won't sell to Allam, preventing him from investing in the area, he's got an arguable case.

If the city of KuH won't (in effect) give him the KC and the land, preventing him from investing, then that is as it should be and bloomin' obviously so.

To be fair to the city supporters they see Allam very differently to us and for good reasons. He saved there club, lets not make any mistake without his intervention then Hull city could well have gone bust and even worse. They feel a loyalty to him and I can understand that, but its clouding their vision a little and they are lashing out. The media are whipping it up by using the "Hull fair" soundbite and ignoring the rest of it, the Wail is very anti Labour and always has been.

I understand there feelings and there worries if Allam decides to move to Ferriby/ Melton or even walk away its worrying for all of us. I am sure that the vast majority of citizens of this city will be happy that the council have taken the line they have, eventually.

city fans are blind to the truth of this. If duffen/bartlett had owned the stadium then likely Hull FC and city would now be paying a significantly higher rent to some bank for the use of it. Any lease we have would be useless if the company who we had teh lease with was liquidated

That is the point,if he defaults on his loan's,FC fans,city fans and ultimatly the hull tax payers are left in the ,the council will most likely end paying the banks for the KC again.

Deputy Leader of the Council Darren Hale was on Humberside at 5-10 and said that the Allams had never made the council an offer and through out the 3 hour meeting yesterday they said that them having the stadium signed over to them first was a pre requisit of the sceme even being started. Strange that one? It will be on listen again soon its worth hearing sensible guy!

I heard it too. Seems a very strange declaration that they have rejected his offer, when according to Darren Hale no offer has been made. It looks as though the council won't have to do anything as Allam is tying himself up in knots. Someone is telling porkies and I know who I trust (on this matter).
