| Tbh I totally disagree over this and hope wakey and cas keep there super league status, both clubs produced outstanding talent over many years, reily, joyner, ward, toppo, fox, ellis to name a few and putting either of these teams in nl 1 will hit there youngsters devolping. Get rid of crusaders or quins who offer nothing in terms of fans, devolping youngsters who will hopefully go on to represent there country. So what if there grounds are not up to scratch at the present time,we were very fortunate ourselves we should never forget that and like wakey and cas we have a tremendous hertiage built up over many years not just to sell dishes

Well said that man, my sentiments exactly, any true RL fan would back these 2 clubs to survive and not be kicked out!!

So Tony Clubb, Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook and even Will Sharp all haven't been developed by Quins and will never play for England?
And a Wales side full of Crusaders players didn't win the European Cup?
Besides, without Crusaders and definitely Quins the Sky money would be reduced, and the game would be in more of a mess than it is at the moment.

Saints as well.
The same could be said for Leeds,Cas,Wakey,Bradford being too close,

Hardly england regulars though are they? What do quins bring in to my club in terms of revenue, next to nothing they rely on travelling support to the stoop to help them out but offer nothing in return,as for crusarders same as above really plus they have just come out of adminstration on top of the players scandal when they shudn't have been here. At least catlans are self sufficent with there home support. Yes wakey and cas have to get there house in order but it would be a disgrace come end of season if say john kear keeps wakey off the bottom and then they have to go play nl 1 after all he has put into the game, and as a england team imo would benefit far more out of the west yorkshire region than quins or wales

So how many Wakey players were in the squad then? Even the fall out squad named before the play offs?
It's not just about directly to the club though, even if they might not bring many supporters to the KC, without them and Crusaders the Sky deal would be worth a hell of a lot less, and it's not as if Wakey fill out the North Stand every time they come is it?

Im sorry but if Wakey and Cas where to be kicked out, 2 of the founding clubs of the RL it would bring the whole sport into disripute imo, along with the shambles of the quota system, the endless tweaking of the rules over the years, the scrapping of relegation, everything,

Looks like they're really struggling! Asking 500 fans to donate £1000 a piece!
"The club needs to do everything it can to generate extra funds and called for 500 people to come forward to each pay £1,000 each and generate £500,000 for the club.
The question is are there 500 people out there who have the club at heart - what does this club mean to you?"

Only Wakey should be kicked out, they bring nothing to the League anymore. Its not just that their current ground isn't up to scratch, it's that they don't have anywhere to play after next season now that their new ground has had more complications.
Anyway, if Widnes do come up for Wakey, it would be one founder member replacing another.

no different to a club begging to its local council for funds!
at least they are asking their own fans first!!
current climate, i doubt they would be able to generate the needed cash

Murphy and Blaymire definately. Agree with the previous poster too that in the current climate it will be difficult to raise the cash from 'normal' fans.

I think having such a shambolic club in SL does immeasurable harm (and I am no fan of Quins or Crusaders either), but seeing their disgraceful ground and the constant begging-bowl is just a joke.
Thay have had money, but chose to waste it. Who's fault is that ?
The "founder member" argument isn't really valid though - so were Manningham, Halifax, Runcorn, Oldham, Tyldesley, Hunslet, Brighouse, Rochdale, stockport, Batley and Broughton !!! So what ?
Given a choice I'd have Halifax and Widnes in for Wakey and Quins, with Crusaders given 2 seasons to shape up or ship out.

| I just wonder if the RL will be as quick to offer £700,000 to Wakey a club that has battled for years to bail them out as they did so readily to Crusaders who have been bust thre times in two years.

Although the Crusader's debt was due to a previous administration I suppose. From what I saw of the Crusader's setup last season they do look like a properly-run club though, and going there is a hell of a lot better than going to Wakefield (apart from the distance).
Wakefield have had a lot of money through their hands since promising a new stadium back in 1998 (remember that their first SL application was refused and they only got in by promising a ground). Spending money on players doesn't seem to have been a problem to them does it ? Remember when they signed the likes of Prekkie and Goulding and then realised they couldn't afford them.
Sorry but I think life in the Championship could forec them to sort themselves out. It hasn't done Widnes much harm, or that other team who play in our city.
I think someone else deserves the chance - hopefully Halifax !

I do hope they do help them Wilf
Rugby league as a whole should do everything it can to help both clubs survive, what really makes me sick to the gut is the keyboard warriors who shout "bin them or kick em out" what about the families who depend on these two clubs , the backroom staff, down to those who sweep the terraces whom all depend i am sure on the cash they get from these two very old time honured clubs AND backbones of super league, not every club can be a Saints or a Wigan due to revenue but these old clubs and their fans should be paid much more respect that to idiotically say "kick em out" as some have done....
Usually the same people who shout "hes crap get him off" sell him or bin him"
I for one hope for the community en large that wakefield come through and get the help they deserve alas i fear the forked tounge of red hall will stitch someone up somewhere to enable them to save face over the welsh and london efforts whom in reality have not and will not contribute to RL in my opinion as Wakey and Cas have over the years....
Think of the lasting damage to RL in general if we allowed Wakefield to fold... the term pack of cards springs to mind

It isn't the RFL's issue to keep people in jobs, sorry, but Wakefield is a failing (failed) business, it's as simple as that.
The utopian view of life that some hold is laudable, if totally unrealistic.
