I have to say that your talk on this seems to be heavily living in the (albeit fairly recent) past, things have changed significantly in only the past 2 seasons and Chase is about as good a halfback as there is even remotely available to play in SL. IMO you're being seriously unrealistic about how good a 6 we can get, and if you seriously think we should turn our noses up at a player of Chase's ability if it costs over £100k then it's time you stopped being so sniffy about Richard Horne. If we want better, we'll have to pay for it (in the short term, at least), if you wouldn't be willing to, deal with what we've got.

Towards McRae. Every time I've had dealings with him he's been a perfect gent. He was good for us in his last spell, and I've seen nothing other than your idle speculation to suggest that anything has changed this time around.

O'Meley has been widely tipped to be on his way out. He is also widely tipped to have fallen out with the current regime. Hardly someone whose word you'd want to take without a healthy pinch of salt.

Maybe, appeared convincing though, but it maybe rooted in bitterness, time will tell.

Either way, O'Meley is way out of line if he's telling fans stuff like that - true or not. Until there's some official confirmation, I'm inclined to judge McRae on the evidence, which, as spackler points out, is all good right now.

O'Meley would be better served getting his lardy in shape rather than holding court at West Hull.

As a club we are doing a lot better at this point than what I anticipated and I think Gentle is a fantastic coach, I was very pleased with the capture of G.Ellis and retaining Whiting, but equally disappointed with the loss of Manu & Turner, I am not overly ecstatic with our signings so far but I am open minded at this point as things appear to be going in the right direction, our signings will be crucial though as with the greatest respect we could have the best coach in the world but we also need the right players.

I'm not actually saying he's wrong, I have no idea. All I'm saying is that so far, the evidence we've seen has been an improvement.

Given that you've just said you're very pleased with Ellis, just how bad do you think Arundel is to be fairly ambivalent with our signings overall?

Irrespective of whether these "rumours" are true, I'm not sure what value mcrae adds now pearson is out of work and can, presumably, devote his time to the club

My thoughts as well, all Pearson needed was someone to get him a coach and then run things day to day.
Apart from contacts within the British game I don't see any value either.
