Schofields situation is very different to that of Cookes. Schofield held the club to ransom and then proceeded to slag the club off very publicly. At the time of him playing at Leeds he was less than complementary about Hull fans as well.

Cooke left us in the lurch. But to his credit he has not one slated the club just for the sake of it and has never publicly had a bad word about the fans.

Cookie was going to be involved in our half back school last season but after questioning Gentles tactics in one of his articles in the hdm in the build up to one of the derbies Gentle told the club he didnt want him around

If he's involved in the club at all he should give up that gig or write it from an FC perspective (of course everything will be fine with the coaching now)

Oh dear, oh dear!

I had a problem with Cooke when he left us for Rovers. I was angry that he had walked away from our club to join our biggest rivals and him leaving soon showed on the pitch. Cooke had the ability to unlock any defence and often did with great ease. I have since seen and heard some of the reasons why Cooke left Hull, some of them reasons and the biggests reasons was due to problems with Hetherington and the old regime, not with the Hull FC brand or it's fans. I for one now wish Cooke all the success for the future and it's safe to say I have forgiven him. If Cooke has any involvement with Hull and if that involvement is to the great of my club then I say that's a good thing. We lack attacking structure at Hull, any one man or a group of men who successfully turn this around will get my full support and respect. Radford, Horne and Last with and Cooke involvement will get my full support.

Quite amazing how quickly a root and branch review can be completed these days, or does this suggest that the review had actually been carried out some time ago and Mr Gentle had been a "dead man walking" for a while now, so those pre Wembley press reports were true after all, despite the denials.

One thing that appears to have been ignored in the comparisons with Wigan and Huddersfield is that both clubs made conscious efforts to groom their respective assistant coaches to take over from their head coaches, with the active involvement of the out going head coach.

Not clear that this has happened with Mr Radford (but it may have done, I suppose), so he will be facing a much tougher challenge than either Anderson or Wane. Not least because he doesn't have a squad as strong as either!

To an outsider it seems a strange turn around by the owner, maybe he has realised that unless you do a "full on Koukash" and buy a completely new team then you are not going to make the hoped for improvements (not that a "Koukash" necessarily guarantees success, as only time will tell), or you build more slowly from within.

This has been our approach at Widnes, out of necessity as much as design the money wasn't there to do a "Koukash" or at least the owner was too canny to squander his money in this way. Our expectations were clearly much lower than Hull's being the new kid on the block and there have been the moments of outrage by fans, not least after the battering you gave us! There are still plenty of Betts haters amongst Widnes fans who make their presence felt after every defeat, but the overall approach is working and the improvements in quality and performance (admittedly from a low base) are there for all to see.

Perhaps Mr Pearson will be a bit more restrained and realistic as to how long it may take Mr Radford to establish Hull as a top four Club.

Hardly seems fair that Gentle should be sacked for not getting us to the stage where we're competing on an even footing with the top clubs quickly enough if we then give his successor a lot longer to achieve that goal.
