Very disappointed with Hoy, but Smith will have to try him now at 6 and play Litten at full back and bring Mitch in on the wing who should bolster the defence on the right edge.
Why we dont try Shaul at nine ill never know..Can do everything in attack that Dwyer offers and cant be a worse passer or defender than Dywer is.'" hoy at the moment looks like a poor mans adam quinlan who was also tried at 6 but his defensive faults got exposed even more

| Biggest disappointment for me is the abject & massive absence of any sort of organisation or leadership.
Our attack was once again shambolic, kick chase non-existent, Taylor kicking on the last ?? Waaay too many forward barges at the line which resulted in ....... several dropped balls/turnovers & zero points.
Once again the culture issue surfaces but changes have been made to the personnel in last couple of weeks. We seem to be really good in making decent players drop their performance levels to bang & below average.
Ligi prime example - shadow of the World cup hero, will be banned yet again.

| Quote ="The Dentist Wilf"For me that was not even an average performance it was so, so below average particularly in the first 30 minutes Leigh out enthused us totally and for a visiting team to do that against us with the players we have and with over 10,000 FC supporters there just wanting to see some effort its very worrying . Leigh are a good team but we should have beaten them yet after around 20 minutes none of us in there were in any doubt that the game was lost. Our discipline is appalling really (Tony Smiths words as well as mine) and with the teams that have strengthened this season and the competitiveness of the division that was relegation form, no doubt about it we should be very afraid I feel. The thing is we have so many good players who are just looking like they are tossing it off for periods in games. To be honest and some will say it's early days but we are a quarter of the season in and we have seen two performances as bad as we have see at the stadium since we moved there. Brian Smith is a great Coach he has however only signed one player and boy it shows as the same old same old is seen comes from the rest. With the games coming up these are worrying times I predict a valiant defeat at Warrington and then back to normal.'"
When did Hull appoint Brian Smith?

| We can't keep changing the coach so it's the players who have to go. Smiths hands tied this year but I can imagine he's already got his eye on players for next year. Big clear out will happen end of year. Gonna be a long season I feel.

Gallant losses followed by abject ones followed by a load of hot air.
17 of the 20 have to go ! they really do
it’s now an embedded culture and one which AP had also overseen for many years

| Hull seemingly have a “jam tomorrow” mentality driven by the chairman and consumed by the frustrated fans season upon season. Many of the currently contracted players ( reportedly 18 plus) contracts cease at the end of this current season.
The question does the Chairman have the finances and the dwindling fan base support to fund a new squad?
Evidently the clubs season pass uptake is significantly down on previous seasons even with the club selling season passes to juniors for £1.00.
Tony Smith is a respected coach and comes with a good pedigree but will the Chairman back him financially come the end of the season.

| Where do I find a list of the 20 ooc players ?
I’ve worked in 1-2 forms where it’s clear you need a clear out
FC are really no different to a working firm
We need a clear out and AP needs to grow some balls and make his presence felt even more !
AP is overseeing all this and hes the Boss

Today you are sitting comfortably in 10th spot. Most FC fans on here are realistic about 2023 performances. ComeOnYouUll can only make a comment that has been repeated dozens of times as you do not seem able to think of anything original to contribute. I really feel sorry for you. You’d feel better, I’m sure, if you were able to express your hurt.

| Looking at Salford, Leigh and Cas (2nd half) games there are clear problems but similarities. We lack pace and movement let alone penetration in in attack. We are so predictable it's not surprising we don't get anywhere in offense as opposition coaches can see videos of our one dimensional approach. The ball players in the opposition change direction constantly whilst we just pass laterally or play one man rugby. We are weak in midfield particularly Centres in both attack and defence. What really struck me today (and I was directly looking down from the South Stand) was when Leigh got their fourth try. Carlos looked to the sky - said nothing (he is our captain!!! We do not have a leader or indeed leaders. We need to sign a leader like Fosdyke keeps saying here on this site.

You thoroughly deserved the win and out played us at times. Good luck for the rest of the season.
On reflection when I stated we have a stronger squad I was talking bollox.
So you admit that you talk which is hardly a surprise.Suggest you listen to other peoples views as you seem to know diddly squat about R/L.

| First things first. We need our own ground. That should be our main priority. We're not getting our value for money because we don't own our own ground and are spending our money on rent instead of the best players available.
Once we do that, we can start trying to be a serious club in the Super league.
The people at the top may talk a good game about being ambitious but talk is all it is.
The best young half back in the country is an FC fan and he's playing for our local rivals, while we sign players in that position that are sat in the stands.
I'd pay money and give Rovers Truman as part of the deal for Lewis tomorrow. But that's actually doing something about ambition. Lewis is bar far a better player than Truman and I'd much rather invest in him.
I'd also get rid of Tony Smith tomorrow and do everything it takes to bring McNamara in. That's nothing against Tony Smith as a coach it just means that he isn't the man for the job whereas McNamara is the man to sort things out, as he did with the national team (he took that over from Smith too) McNamara can attract players like Sam Tomkins and Tom Johnstone, match winning players.
The players on show are reflecting the ambition of the people in the shirts and ties making the decisions.

On what basis is Lewis a better player than trueman? What chance does a player have for us when he’s getting criticised by fans before he’s even managed played a game for us.
Tony Smith is the right man for the job and if you can’t see now that coaches haven’t been the problem then more fool you. It’s years of shocking retention and recruitment along with pathetic attitude that’s got us here, Tony has turned it around everywhere he has gone. And if this was a troll comment then here is your bite.

On McNamara attracting better players. I'm sure location has a fair bit to do with it. Aren't players better off in France due to lower tax too?

| I also find the argument ‘we need our own ground to create atmosphere’ is a load of complete rubbish. The reality is the MKM is our home for the foreseeable, and a home which scores us highly with the IMG. If you want to make the atmosphere better, do something about it, make flags, stand up, get chants going rather than just complaining in forums about it every other week. I spoke to a member of the marketing department recently and they advised the club is actively looking for ways to improve the match day experience. Willing to contribute towards making flags etc.
