Sorry to see Matt go. Whether he was effective or not he always gave the impression he tried and cared.
Showed glimpses of last years form against Hull at home, his versatility will be missed.

All the best to Matt Ryan, overall he has been good for us and always put the effort in. Personally i don't agree with the decision but time will tell if it is the correct call.

Not the best skill wise and he had the physique of a pub player. But the guy always seemed to give 100% and looked like he bought into the ethos of the club. He has served us well in his short time with us, so many thanks Matt.

Ryan was in some ways the new Kevin Henderson.
Always gave 100%, not always spectacular but, always worked his socks off.

He was a better player than he was ever given credit for and his attitude was spot on, just the type of player needed in a relegation fight. Strange to make this decision now to bring in a reserve grade winger. It wouldn't surprise me if he turned up at one of our relegation rivals and bit us on the backside. Good luck to the guy.

An unspectacular player, but always seemed ready to put in a good, tough shift; I never saw him shirk, even during thrashings. One import who can certainly look himself in the eye and not wonder if he was nicking a wage.

I'm concerned though - does that leave us down on our ginger quota?

It would have been nice to thank him and those that have already left but for some reason this was not an option available to the supporters. I wonder if anyone knows what his plans are and did he jump or was he pushed.

Looking at his Twitter account it does not appear he knew it was coming. I guess the Wakefield Trinity secret service will never divulge why and reading the club's comments he only receives the standard much used phrases despite the service he provided.

He's not gone yet. He had his usual spot at Trinity Walk with the rest of the overseas boys earlier today. Tupou was there as well i think? If not it was someone who looked like him.

Matt Ryan has gone because the club were not going to offer him a new deal for next year, so he's been released early. One of the few whole hearted players in the squad, not offered a new deal, seems strange to me.....
