If old Calvin Klein can make a success of it in the NRL, Roby should finish up their star ref.

Great news good riddance now we will Childs Hicks and some other referee promoted thru the fast track to do our games because our results don`t matter.

The next cab off the rank is Matt Thomason, who has been dar from impressive in his previous superleague appearances. Guess which game he's doing this week....

I always feel for Roby - being of similarly diminished stature, I empathise when I see him standing in a crowd of massive RL players, desperately trying to establish authority.

Best of luck to him in Aus - hopefully it will improve him - because at present, I don't think he's a very good ref.

It does make you wonder if the RFL have any plan to grow both the number and quality of referees in the game; we seem to have a desperate shortage of professional standard officials and the most recent crop have a fair way to go; the scary thing is that pretty soon, James Child will be considered the senior referee in SL....
