Clearly there is still a deficit and this is only reducing the existing position but that is outstanding work.

Great news. I would like to ask MC. When will the club have paid all the debts that were taken on when he took over from Glover.

I don't really get how all this works but is that the profit since November 2013 or in the 10 months run up to that date? I would assume it being the former given the perilous state the club was in last year.

A great effort in turning the club finances around though. Wasn’t it a 1.2 million loss the previous year?

Where are the details? It would be interesting to see how we have acheived this and whether they are any extraordinary items.

Player sales were pretty much concluded prior to the window above, subject to it being the 10 months after Nov 13. I guess tightening up on freebies and cost savings on ridiculous contracts may have assisted.

This is how much profit we made in the 10 month period, not the overall cash surplus.
So we have made imrovements and in this 10 month period those improvements amount to (I assume) income v expense gives us a profit.
We had big losses before that and are only reducing the damage already done. To reduce the overall debt (if we even want to) will take a lot longer.

I'm not in the know so MC or anyone else from team will probably announce this with more details.

Most of the historic debt belongs to Glover who has agreed to not call in, at least thats what I understand. Once our immediate debt are cleared I don't see no reason why we can't hold our own as a business.

I bet ngb4c did, he'll want the club to buy back Mariano now, if he thinks the clubs got some money.

Michael Carter, Chris Brereton and Co deserve huge congratulations for this achievement. We were cut, we were bleeding and even dropped to one knee but we've climbed up off the canvass and got back in the fight.

This on the face of it can be something that all involved can be very proud off. I know the club has been run on a vastly reduced staff also didn't I hear those remaining had taken a reduction in wages too.

As I understand it and remember MC saying at the time is the agreement with Glover about him calling debts in is a verbal one and is not on paper.

I remember MC saying at one meeting I went to that the agreement for AG not to call in the money WAS in writing - otherwise he wouldn't have taken the club over.

Not wishing to ruin the moment but the current board took over at the end of August. The accounts relate to the period Nov 2013 therefore the profit stated is probably more to do with the sale of players and the reduction in overheads.
The difficulty will be to continue the trend now we have no players or overheads to reduce. I wish them well and it is good news which I hope they can sustain, I guess we will only find out this time next year.

For sustainability the club should continue to encourage innovative ideas to generate income for the club, taking a leaf out of those other small professional sports clubs across the country. We had a forum page and it was full of ideas which MC was very receptive to.

The weekly car boot venue on the car park was just one of a number of ideas that could potentially generate a weekly income of £2000 during the off season. It only needs a licence from the council and the necessary risk assessments and careful management by volunteers.

Does that figure include the winnings from the prediction leauge?

In the run up to Christmas we need to be pushing the Amazon cash back idea that was mentioned. That could earn a fortune in the next 2/3 months if you think about January sales as well

Fantastic news, especially when you consider Salford lost £5 million and had a similar season to you on field.

Hope the stay away supporters hear about this and realise MC is the real deal and not another boom and bust merchant. We need more season tickets bought to cement the stability and build the team. We look to have a decent squad but if individuals in that squad start playing well other clubs will start waving bigger contracts under their noses and with a bigger fan base we might stand a chance of competing with those deals.
