They did well, but Salford were absolute tosh; their big money names go missing again (Smith and Chase) their old codgers are rubbish (Morley, Puletua and Meli) and their resident psycho (Hock) makes one good run all night, then spends the rest of the game trying to get sent off.

The Wigan youngsters weren't prolific but, most teams would take that level of commitment and desire in defence.

No way our paper thin defence would have kept Salford out in that first half. They would have put 50 past us ( that said everybody puts 50 past us ). Wogans defence everything ours isn`t, determined, well structured and agressive.

I find it quite ingenious the way every topic is changed into a negative about the team performance.

Our team can't agree on much, we can't agree on how we should attack, we can't agree on a defensive structure, the players don't agree with where they're being selected to play and so on





It's quite easy really you can be a real miserable git without much effort

Salford look to me like busy fools - lots of running around and apparent effort, without actually achieving anything worthwhile; their attacking structure is a pale imitation of Wigans, but really badly executed, and their half backs are not on the same page at all. They were terrible.

Great to see the Wigan youth putting it in, but they'll have had harder games in training.

Let's not forget that Wigan have often 'splashed the cash'.
The signing of 'international class' players laid down the foundations for success,brought in the crowds' and then enabled the steady progression re. development of young players.
Its all about getting the balance right.
Salford have not got this balance.
The expression 'wanting to run before you can walk' comes to mind.
Many of the signings are proving to be unwise.
To me steady progression ,finishing anywhere out of the bottom two would of been success this year and then gradually build from there.
Spending on class is not a sin as long as all the other aspects of the club's overall development are attended to.
Here's hoping my euro millions numbers come up soon.
