Is the Super Stadium Management Company the actual name or is it a facetious dig?

Either way its a nice boost for the coffers mid-season. Hopefully the team can make the most of this period.

aargghh, I will now miss the fixture, just when I thought the fixture list was been kind for my summer hols with the London game been on the Friday.

They're called the SMC (stadium management company). When the KC was getting built and was yet to be named they always referred to it as the Super Stadium, so that's probably where they got that from.

This should be interesting. The 4th May is my first wedding anniversary.

My wife (who is a Hull FC fan) told me of the fixture change last night and insists that I'm not sitting in the away end (as I normally do for these matches) on the day of our anniversary.

Time to stamp your authority get her in the away end mind you it will cheaper in the away end if the past pricing structure is anything to go by.

Out of interest, what was the original arrangement?

Assuming that you didn't become a fan quite late in life then I would remind her that you were a Wakey fan BEFORE you were her Husband. Let her know where your priorities are!


That's easy for me to say of course as my missus is not a fan of any club so I don't have that dilemna. It does cause the odd argument when she wants to do family stuff on a Sunday sometimes but generally speaking she knows her place in the pecking order.

We are life long fans of our respective clubs so have a general understanding of where our loyalties lie. She also has a season ticket for Wakefield (which I buy for her every year) and kind of has Wakefield as her second team.

I did offer for her to join me in the away end yet she seemed to throw the "it is our anniversary" point back at me. The fact she has a Hull FC season ticket and I don't is maybe an argument in her favour.

She does read the forums though, don't you babe



I'm sure we'll find a happy medium, just interesting that the fixture falls this way on our first anniversary.

Last year, the first fixture after we got married was in the Challenge Cup at the KC. I do however enjoy having the giggles when I come out of the away end to meet her after we beat them at their place - Thanks Lee Smith

Personally, I'd rather have a greater percentage of home fixtures later in the season when the team has had a chance to bond together properly.

History shows 2 possible outcomes here - we have had 2 seasons where we have finished strongly - the rest have seen us finish with a whimper.

Despite all the away games early on, I am hopeful that we can put some points on the board - if do that then we could be ok by the time the 'home run' kicks in, if we don't, then pressure could build and it could become twitchy bum time again.

Starting well is vital - however we manage it!
