They will be giving us a parachute payment this time next year!

It would have been nice to have some help before we had to sell prized assets. The damage is done now though, we'll be relegated next season because we wont have the playing staff to compete.

Totally. Bradford's assistance was huge and timely and prevented the fire sales we are now seeing. It is yet another example of inquality in the game

Im sure I read in a article that Isaac John was getting paid by the RFL on our behalf as we hadnt paid him.

Stop blaming the RFL for a mess of our own making and sort it out ourselves. It makes us come across as ridiculously bitter.

I think the RFL paid Isaac John monies owed by WTW - something like 7K.

The main payment though is from next years SKY money 167K I have heard to help pay the tax bill. This is nothing new though and has been done with several other SL clubs in the past.
The other one coming up is the fine from the Widnes game. This one isn't avoidable IMO but the RFL could help you out if they suspend the fine until you get back on your feet.

The Loverugbyleague article states "There are economies of scale to be gained from having shared academies in Hull or certain parts of West Yorkshire".

We might be having a merged Academy to cut costs maybe ?

Saves money by CT and WTW trying to out bid each other when paying signing on fees to juniors. Hull and HKR have been looking at doing this for a number of years now.

I'm not sure how it could work. Its pretty tight that clubs are looking cut costs in vital area's, and I'm guessing it would lead to just the one SL Calder academy rather than two, further limiting spaces developing kids.

With the reduction to 12 SL teams it seems the sport is willfully contracting itself. Not good.

I never said it was the RFLs fault that we're in this mess, and for the record, I dont think the RFL are at fault for it. However, they could have stepped in to stop us having to sell our prized assets.... success is measured on the field, and if we're not competitive, the supporter numbers will dwindle and so will money coming into the club.

I cannot see how the RFL can step into help. You cannot compare WTW's plight to that of Bulls. WTW are not in administration, they are confident of getting out of the mess they are in at the moment by raising cash by lowering the wage bill.
WTW have chosen to go down the route of selling players themselves so why would they ask the RFL to step in to stop other clubs buying their prized assets ?
Its a business decision to save the club and avoid administration and by doing this they will be allowed to compete in SL next year. Administration = no SL 2014. Its the correct decision by DC IMO.

It's certainly a catch 22 situation.
If we sell all of our better players, we may avoid administration and be able to play in SL next year. However, without the players we look nailed on to be relegated at the end of next season.
I am not advocating administration but, we look screwed either way.
To coin a phrase used by your avatar, "we're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't".

But,

Go into admin and the RFL may well not let us start the season
or
Sell players and run with a minimal squad and at least we have a (small) chance

Go into admin Trinity will lose the players regardless and the clubs name becomes mud (even more than it already is) with local businesses. Do it this way means at least there is a chance the new BoD can salvage a little confidence from the business world towards Trinity.
