Just watching the Cas/Cru match and Phil Clarke quite catagorically states that the Crusaders have no fear of relegation! Now I know we have suspected this all along but for a Sky presenter to announce this live during a match is appalling. Come on Andrew Glover fight our corner with the RFL!!!!!

I think he was referring to the fact that they can't be relegated due to finishing bottom of the league but I take your general point.

Once you're downhere in the sludge, you will find that getting back up there is not on the RFL/Sl's agenda. You will belong to a paralell existance that the RFL doesn't give a sheeite about. Getting back will of course be your dream - just like it has been mine for the last 16 years! But eventuually you will come to a similar conclusion. It ain't happening!!

It's been your dream for 16 years but there's only been franchise for 3 when we went down 94 ( werent invited like yourselves) it took us 3 seasons to get back in and if it wasn't for NM being called in we wouldn't be about losing our franchise now. We won the GF in 98 against your goodselves to qualify winning the league as well even though that doesn't mean anything anymore. Never been relegated and had some good play off wins built a community team that serves the city brilliantly and which has been recognised by the RFL as best in RL. Stadium and previous regime have let us down but great off field progress have been made with new regime

its a shame if Championship not on tv next year because I have enjoyed watching it more than Superleague. The two Superleague games on sky this weekend have been terrible, anyone who thinks we are catching up with the Aussies is in cloud cuckoo land , the State of Origin games were light years away from what we have witnessed this weekend. Its time to bring back P & R it works in soccer and doing away with it has not improved our game. Time for the RFL to have representative of the fans on board who actually understands what its like to be a fan , working 9-5 and trying to get to games after work, paying to get in through turnstyles and enjoying the banter STANDING on the terraces in our homely stadia.

your right in your statement trying to play catch up Championship league is catching up and has become entertaining at that level

Wonder if Danny 'I'm imapartial' Lockwood will do a one sided half page assassination attempt on this game/clubs as he did after our cc cup game with Cas,or has Danny got blinkers on?

one of the problems that the game had with p and r was the fact that when a team were relegated they basically had to release most of their players to get under the lower salary cap, i know a lot of this came about when hudds went down and kept the same players and went undefeated.
as a trinity fan if you were to come bottom and get relegated in the old fashion you would still be in a better position after losing your players than you will be if the rfl just dump you in the championship for at least 3 years with no promotion back to the top flight guranteed.

expansion is good for the game if it is done correctly, look at the nrl who are going to expand in a couple of years and teams have been laying the foundations in perth, adelaide and brisbane for new teams, it has taken 4-5 years of hard graft and development of the game to get to this point whereas the rfl just say..... lets play in wales and start from scratch, the game could look very silly over the winter if wakey are kicked out for crusaders who then in turn go bust/ cease to exist..

I have been given the impression that the NRL sides don't want to expand beyond 16 teams.

Rumour is premier sports a great chanel for the NRL at the moment with really low cots, I really do hope they take it on I would love to have a reason to leave sky.
