| What a strange rule from the Hudds game.. They had a penalty and kicked for touch, missed and it went out on the full dead in goal! I assumed we would then get the penalty as the object is to find touch. However we dropped kicked the ball back to them off our 20..
As it doesnt happen often (well i cant remember in my 20+ years of watching) thats probably why i don't know it! Anyone else think the team who miss place the aim of the kick should get the ball back?

| It's treated the same as a failed shot at goal - drop out in the 20.
I don't have a problem with it.

| It is a funny rule TBH. It's far easier to kick to touch than kick a goal so comparing isn't that justified. And it is a bit of a reward for making sure the ball goes dead in-goal if you miss a penalty kick at goal! This is something the goal kicker always bears in mind, not especially the place kicker. One rewards skill, or maybe power at least, the other a grave error.

| Now you do learn something new every day
Though from your description of just going dead in goal then by the slighest margin of error the attacking team will have lost about 50m from the resulting drop out compared to a tap right on your line if a foot or so the other way!

Well maybe when you've finished playing in the 9's tournament for the fuzz you can take up reffing for those of you that have not heard this fellow scored the other night and against some quallity players.
In fact i hear the Wigan scouts have asked for the dvd of the game.

| The rule is similarly applied to the case of a penalty kick at goal that misses wildly, let's say due to the wind and bounces into touch.
The result would be a scrum to the kicking team.

| I like the rule because it punishes both teams. It punishes the team who kicked it out because instead of getting the ball 10m from the try line they get it 50 or 60m. It also punishes the team who gave away the penalty because they still get punished for giving away the penalty but obviously they will have more chance of not conceding a try.

| I'd like to see it change for missed touch kicks tbh, when you take the two you'd be risking rewarding the team who gave the penalty away but kicks to touch (for a chance of 6 points) should really be a 100% sure thing.

Al you are indeed correct! 1 Water boy short, and they've heard i can cut a mean orange at half time
Wigan had Ben Davies, Stefan Marsh, Logan Tomkins, Daryl Goulding and Amos Roberts and at one point Marsh, Goulding and Roberts where down my side with an overlap! I was pleased as my orris only nipped at 80 beats per minute and not the 120 i expected
It was nice to score against the Champs even if it was a Ryan Hall type finish... It will get further as the beers flow until its a Andy Wilson v Wigan away type try!!!
If you cast your mind back to the Adam Watene Celebrity Memorial match at BV a couple of years back, Blanchy got the ball in the clear on half-way, and had an open run to the line, (I know ... that never happened in a proper game !!!!),:22d76rad but Amos tracked back and caught him at the 20 metre line:22d76rad
Never wor a fan of diving our Damien
Keep asking JK for a shirt but the only comprimise we have come to is Rosie Webster
in dressing room before game and im at right wing by all accounts!
