| An excellent article summing up Wednesday meeting is to be found on page 6.
It covers all the key points and explanations and shows what good fact based journalism (or a good press release) can achieve.

| From the Tony Hannan piece at the back of LE:
'Fun and games in Wakefield, too, where more details emerge regarding yesterday's 1,000 strong meeting at the Cedar Court Hotel.
The launch of the new club 1873 is intended to help the Wildcats hit the 5,000 member target they need to have a chance of winning a three year Super League licence on July 26.
Nor will the announced upgrade of Belle Vue - sorry, Rapid Solicitors Stadium - to a 12,000-capacity stadium this coming close-season do any harm.
You've got to hand it to new chairman Andrew Glover, haven't you? Since his arrival, Wakefield have been one of the most imaginatively promoted clubs in the competition.
Can Super League really afford to ignore such innovative and impressive marketing expertise?'
Well I reckon we all know the answer to that one???

| The RFL won't dare drop Wakefield or any other club. It would tear the sport apart more than any TV rights deal did.

My thoughts exactly!
The Rugby football league and the Crusaders are working very hard to bottle up news of any problems that the Crusaders are suffering. At the same time there is some disinformation being put out to offer the impression that the Crusaders are doing okay. For example news stories linking them with new players.
If the Crusaders implode then the Rugby football league can not relegate any other club whilst at the same time keeping the Crusaders in super league. Even the expansion card has limits to how far the Rugby football league can go to protect an expansion club and the more information that reaches the public domain about Crusaders problems the more stupid the Rugby football league will look if they exclude any other team only for the Crusaders to go to the wall within months if not weeks. Too many people will say that there was enough doubt surrounding the Crusaders franchise for the Rugby football league to have seen the writing on the wall and yet they still relegated another club. In my opinion this scenario would render the positions of certain people namely Richard Lewis and Nigel Wood, untenable.

Apparently they are going to change the name of the club to North Wales Crusaders thus setting up an annual challenge against South Wales Scorpions. There was a link to a website confirming it but the link has been removed which suggests it may well be true.

So what information is in the public domain that show Crusaders are in trouble (or more to the point what are you insinuating is being hidden?)
It will be quite interesting so see how the franchising applications are viewed, given that Widnes were unable to use the full weight of their past successes owing to their admin, what will be used to compare Crusaders and Wakey who could both be viewed as new clubs?

No desperation at all mate, what will be will be, it's a question posed unlike a load of supposition and clap trap or half hoping for issues that are not there.
