Is the clipper chap linked with stobarts in anyway or have they got their wire's crossed and come up with stobart when its going to be the Cliper Super League?

Stobart is nothing to do with Clipper. I don't think Clipper will sponsor the league but that doesn't mean that Parkin who owns Clipper will not be involved in the game shortly.
They may have to pull the plug on their sponsorship with Widnes due to a conflict of interest but this hasn't bothered the RFL in the past.

Who knows but i doubt many would question it if Wakey did the same.
Although it may explain a few things regarding a certain other interested party, and the dealing he had with the RFL. |

Not really. And theories like this make us Wakefield fans look like morons.
If Stobart want national advertising at a good price, having their logo on TV both on live games, highlights and news bulletins by sponsoring Super League makes sense, regardless of which league a club affiliated to it may be in.
I'm sure for such a title sponsorship, other parties would have been interested, without 'blackmailing' the RFL into accepting a club into a league. |
