As reported in yesterdays league express Ben has left the club on Dual Reg initially on a 1 month deal, although as in the express he was all set to join Hunslet and go straight into their squad for the next game. It now seems the club have pulled the plug on this deal with Gledhill set to link up with Featherstone Rovers....

Any thoughts???

I agree with you on both points.

Chances are probably limited now with Higgins and Hickey adding to the forward pack. Can't see him displacing Korkidas, King, Amor or Johnson either so its probably best he joins up with a championship side so he's playing at a higher level than reserve.

Absolutely agree - if Ben and those people advising him embrace the opportunity in a positive way, it could be very good for him. Good luck to the lad - I hope it goes well.

Agreed, chances now are very limited, although he never really kept up the momentum after his excellent debut at Hull KR.
He had a storming game that night, but never really repeated it.
Good luck to him and hopefully we'll see him again in red, white and blue.

I hope that Fev/Hunslet/Wherever he is going are on TV in the next few weeks because it would be good to see him at Championship level, as we will then get a better chance to see if he is ready for Super League.

Because he's too young and inexperienced for a prop. It was a stunning debut that's been a rod for his own back ever since. No way was he going to repeat that and he hasn't but sadly the expectation is now there. Away from us he will have a chance to blossom at a proper pace.

A few months at fev would be of benifit to his development I think. He could come back and after one more off season should kick on to first team duty.

He will certainly come back BIGGER if he goes to Hunslet, they are the most unfit bunch of vagabonds I have ever seen take a rugby field. Their fitness programme consists of a steady jog up to the kebab shop, order food and then wait for the mini bus to take them back to clubhouse for a few beers....all smokers please use back seats !!

Some good fit fast lads at Fev,spin in the tackle Ben,and they will feed off you all day.Not the biggest pack in the Championship,but definitely the fittest and quickest .Good luck Ben,you will fit in well and come back better for it.

Dual reg is a brilliant idea - it should show the lad that the club wants him badly enough to keep him on the books even though he's not yet ready for SL. I'm confident he'll be a star (hopefully for Trinity!) in years to come, but that maybe next season, or more likely the one after, is when he'll be ready to step up to SL.

I will be keeping an eye on debs results from now on. As for dual Reg it's a great idea.

Players like annakkin and spiers would also benefit I think.

Best thing for him, will help his development massively.

As for Gledhill, this is the first I've heard about it... we seem okay for second row/props, unless someones getting dropped...

Good move for both clubs and the player hope he is given the chance to come back and we don't lose a good prop for the future
