| Well, seing as I'm off on me Jols now, it's time to ask for your thoughts on games in days gone by, this time against our final league fixture - against HKR.
Clearly I am hoping that we will have one more feature to do, but we won't know until much nearer the time whether that is the case - and certainly as to who it could be against!
So, for now, I would love to hear your stories of matches against the Robins or other memories involving the Robins - and although I may regret this this offer is open to away supporters as well!
Thanks again to all who have helped put these features together.

| My most recent memory is listening to the radio on the way back from our match over there this season. Their chairman was being interviewed and was asked about complaints from away fans about how they were treated visiting their ground and he replied 'We don't care about the away fans'. I can confirm this opinion and he won't be getting any more money from me at his ground again.

| Winning at their spot last year when brad drew tore them to pieces in a blistering 15 min spell to win the game!
Turning it on for 15 mins and winning the game - coming out of the ground at full time and listening to all those very bitter hull kr fans saying that we cheated and the referee cheated and the RFL dont like them and never wanted them in SL....priceless !!!!

| Ben Thaler penalty try, rather controversial. Winning it for Toppo last year, KR's first game back in SL, about 3 mins from the dream start, very gutting to lose that day!
Always remember we struggled against them in the 80's, very hard side to beat!

| remember playing them 3 times in the old NL1 system and losing all 3 but then the one counted after we had finished minor league champs was the 1 made us the first team in Europe to qualify for a grand final play off . the match was probably one off the hardest emotionally and physically i have seen 2 teams compete in ( only topped by wakey cas for survival) and although the losers would eventually have a 2nd chance against featherstone the week after you just knew that the game had taken its toll on both teams which ultimately lead to KR being hammered by fev at Hull the week after . two weeks later Wakefield were of course more refreshed Wakefield won the match to qualify for super league never to play KR until they too qualified for SL and we all know what happened then being KRs first every scalp

It is a double page feature you know!
Could you give a little more detail - as each game you mention has it's own significance.

The play off game in 98 winning it near the end and Franny Stephenson running past the KR fans giving it the big one which then led to the KR fans lobbing bins on the pitch and trying to get on the pitch at the Wakey players. I was then kicked in the chest by a Wakey fan who was jumping over the fence onto the field screaming 'DON'T YOU TOUCH OUR =red EDIT PLAYERS!'
Winning the game last year in the last 10/15 minutes after the loss of Toppo a top atmosphere and a fitting tribute to a great man and player.

Our part time players threw the Fev game as it would have meant most of them being shipped out in the close season

let me confirm to you now that Wakefield Trinity's tactics that day were to send a message to the team they expected to play again in the grand final.
Quite possibly the physically biggest Trinity team I have ever seen were on a mission to leave Hull Kingston Rovers in no doubt who the daddies were!
After the game, in which Hull Kingston Rovers had taken of very cruel battering, I spoke with Stanley Gene who was laid on the physios table receiving treatment. Without being condescending I was trying to look on the positives for Rovers and the fact that they got to play Featherstone the following week and a place in the grand final.
Stanley's reply was:
[iNo mate, after the battering we just received I doubt we'll be able to put much of a challenge, we're spent. We knew before the game it would be tough and we desperately needed the weeks break that a win would offer us.[/i
That's a strange statement coming from such a champion as Stanley Gene but I think it was coming straight from the heart and was honestly how he felt.
The rest is history, we know that Featherstone went on to win the following week by a decent margin, courtesy of the physical battering that Wakefield Trinity had given to Hull Kingston Rovers.

Thankfully it is history. It came very close to an undeserving Fev winning the final - undeserving in terms of both finishing 5th place, and on the day. We were talking about this yesterday at the u18s, thankfully the touch judge had it in them to make a decision.

| my main memory of Hull KR is not good it came on the opening day of the 1981/82 relegation season in the Yorkshire Cup 1st round away
John Lyons was our new stand off following Toppos move to Hull I can not remember the score but we lost a close game on a hot day
I was a young lad of 18 and learning to drive an old family friend who’s nephew played for Bradford Northern used to give me driving lessons and decided it would be good experience for me to drive to Hull on the A roads to watch the game
On the way home he had a massive heart attack and died in the passenger seat as I was driving I had to leave the car with the police in Hull and go back for it with a driver the next day as I had not passed my test

I was quite surprised he didn't get into any bother over that though I seem to remember he claimed he was gesturing to the Wakey fans in celebration!

| Remember well the 1968 Championship Final @ Headingley where we defeated the Robins 17-10 the week before we travelled to Wembley in our attempt to win the double.
To this day the first time a "Grand Final" as been played before Wembley.
Also remember Neil Fox kicking a conversion from the main stand 25 on a wet surface and pulling his hamstring. Because of this he missed out on Wembley, so Don and history took over the kicking duties. Also Neil who was also Captain of the Gt Britain World Cup squad had to pull out of the forthcoming series.

| Think our 1st SL game at Craven Park against you lot will be the best memory we have against Trinity.
We'd had a full preseason of Jibes from our monchrome neighbours about how we'd struggle to win a game, struggle to win away, gift of 8 easy points for them and that we'd be relegated with the lowest number of points ever. I was sick of hearing how it was a massive step up and we'd never make it so to get of to a winning start was huge.
When they opted not to go to Webster for the one pointer (to draw) on the hooter I think most of us wondered what was happening only to see Ben Cockayne scoot over for the vital try and secure our 1st 2 points.
Then theres the Belle Vue meetings since, makali's sending off that cost us the game one year and the irrepressible Mr Thaler and the penalty try that never was, god I love that man..

I remember most of the little bits posted on here so far, but my stand out memory is of the young kid from HKR who saved a jar full of change for the Brennan Rooney and brought it over to BV.

| Vague memories of a game in the very early 90's (I think) where we were stood at the side just behind where the St. John's Ambulance guys were sitting at the side of the pitch.
Billy Conway (I think) went down injured and the St. Johns just sat there ignoring the fact for what seemed like an eternity. We had to yell at them to get their backsides in gear and get on the field with a stretcher.
Just read that back and decided it couldn't be much more vague if it tried, perhaps someone else can remember this game and help my ailing memory.
