| The question has to be asked WHY are the players so apparently disinterested all of a sudden? Is it the coach, has he lost the dressing room? Was it his decision to change a winning team, or send a raft of players out on loan or back to their parent clubs? Is it injuries and players are playing busted? Are their money issues behind the scences again? Have some already been tapped up for next season by other clubs so motivation has diminished? Or have they been found out and they actually are just not all that good?
Whatever it is something has happened to alter the commitment levels dramatically and whatever it is needs sorting asap as I agree we need a win from the next three games otherwise its squeaky bum time.

Hi wrencat that is a possibility? I'm baffled as to why it has suddenly changed in the last couple of weeks, is there something we don't know?
As a fan though I look on these as professional rugby players and they should have a professional attitude. Why a bunch of players would not want to put the effort in and perform against Leeds (one of the best teams in the world and local rivals) is beyond me.

| As a fan who has seen the drivel of the last 2 games Im worried about how we can put the effort in over 3 games one of those Saints then look like we have in the last 2 games.

Although we played well in the 3 games prior to the KR game.
The 2nd half at London was sloppy and we allowed them to score 22 points.
The 2nd half against Saints wasn't too clever either (although they were assisted by the ref.
Then 80 mins against KR and almost a carbon copy "performance" yesterday, which is one of the worst games I can remember in almost 30 years as a Wakey fan.
The total lack of a response from the team after last week indicates one of 2 things.
Either we are just not competitive in SL (which doesn't fit at the side of the first 40 against Saints), or the coach is not having any positive effect on the team.
I have been labelled as an Agar apologist in the past and although I wasn't jumping for joy when he was appointed, I have been very supportive of the bloke over the past 2 seasons but, I'm sorry but we are no longer playing as a team and we seem to let our heads drop and raise the white flag as soon as things don't go our way.
We now have another thrashing by Leeds and a likely reverse against Cas to look forward to over the next couple of weeks.
Also, something which doesn't seem to have had a mention in yesterdays crowd, which although not shocking at just over 4000 but, there were only 1500 - 1800 Wakefield fans in attendance, which may be the most worrying aspect of the day.

| Nothing from the club today, no sorry from the players, no it was a disgrace from the coach, no it was unacceptable from the directors and action will be taken. Nothing from Kath Hethrington saying no stone will be left unturned to get get to the bottom of the problem. All we have had is RA saying we picked up injuries, well what a surprise when we have the worst management of a squad of players in the history of the game. Can we have some leadership please. All we had all season is excuses... oh woe is us the nasty refs don`t like us, oh woe is us this bunch of full time pro players don`t know how to gel and now we are going to get the injury card thrown at us. Leadership Leadership Leadership please from someone, anyone at the club.

Actions speak louder than words and maybe the team are working hard on the field preparing for Friday. Here's hoping anyway. I feel sure the players all feel as gutted as we do about how they performed on Sunday and while ever they don the red white and blue they will get my support as will the back room staff. Wtid

Although you may be right, where was the response from last weekend, when we were similarly embarrassed by an average Hull KR side ?

They don't get my support for simply pulling on a club jersey nor the backroom staff for wearing a jacket with a badge on it, thats madness.

Totally agree with this. Respect has to be earned. We have had teams with less ability but they got by because they had heart and a never say die attitude. Two qualities which the current team with a few exceptions appear to be sadly lacking at present.

I know it's been a dire depressing couple of weeks. I'm just ever the optimist as life's too short for depression. Was stood on the terraces Sunday listening to a 'fan' abusing Kirmo for entire first half and found it sickening.
Madness, your probably right.

| The team performance can improve and unlike those on here there is more to life than a couple of defeats. I have seen it all before and would not swap places with either Bradford or London supporters at this time. We are now a well run club unfortunately some of you have become intoxicated with the team we have been able to put together. I have no doubt we will improve and yes we will have bad games but nothing we have not endured in the past. I would suggest that you have all made your opinions known so no need to keep reiterating your points of views under differing threads.
I also had to put up with the moron who would not take an hint that he was a voice in the wilderness despite this being pointed out on several occasions. I did notice he disappeared at half time never to appear again.

| Quote ="wildshot"Sorry to go against the grain of this thread but I would like to express my own opinion of the game.
Looking at yesterday alone I wouldn't blame Agar for that performance. I blame the players entirely. Even with poor game plan instructions (if they received such) how could you not lift your performance to play a team like Leeds? How can you not be motivated to prove a point and turn in a decent showing?
I honestly never expected us to win yesterday but I expected us to be competitive. We weren't.
This is virtually the same team who ran St Helens so close and also had 2 comfortable wins.
I wasn't at Hull KR last week so am not in a position to comment on that game. Hearing that Agar made wholesale changes for that match lets me think there is validity to the criticism of him. However for the Leeds match I would be less critical of our coach.
If I was MC I'd give the players a good rollicking. Ask them to stand up and show what us the fans and everyone else associated with the club means to them. If I was MC I would highlight the efforts that he'd put in to save the club and why they owe him. They owe their salaries and livelihoods to him and the club.
Heck I'd even ask Kath Hetherington and even her hubby Gary to go into the dressing room post match and tell them how they'd let the club and the game down.
Whilst I personally feel our pack is not quite as strong as last season, our squad is comparable if not overall a little bit better. We can perform better than that.
The team has had time to bed in and get to know each other now. The excuses at the start of the season can start to wane thin.
Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of Agar, I don't blame him for yesterday.
Also, change now is not in my view a good idea. Firstly Agar is on a long term contract which I dare say we can't afford to pay off. (I did find it odd to extend his contract so far.) Also now is the time the team should be gelling. They need a few more weeks to prove they have. (I'm not contradicting what I've said above, I purely mean that the fruits of this gelling period should begin to show now).
The players need to stand up. We need a much improved performance on Friday.

Finally a post that has some thought put in to it
There are a few simple reasons why we lost on Sunday, not least of which is Leeds can put 60 passed any SL team on there day and the team haven't had an off season but the main reason is....
The majority of the pack were out on there feet to me, carrying knocks, strapped up like mummies, playing on injections, our forwards are in a mess at the moment but they and the rest of the team will come good
If our forwards don't lay the foundations the back are on the back foot
Kirmond put a valiant captains effort in but is clearly not right, the guy is carrying an injury to his back I would say
Anderson looked like he was having serious knee problems and struggled to get up a few times, was unable to take the ball to the line with any momentum
Wasbrook, again looks to me to be carrying an injury
D Smith, hardly played and in the last twenty mins play had to stop several minutes while the physio checked over him before leading him off the bitch
Scruton left the field and didn't come back either, again looked injured to me
Moore looked excellent but its his first game back so only played 25 mins, tauti played well too and Ali was as always brilliant but half a pack will always struggle to create any momentum
People need to get off agars back, if its the same midway through the season then that's an other story

| If our players are so busted up over the last 2 games then why let players go out on loan ?.
Kirmond hasn't looked his self most of the season so far and the lad looks like he could do with a rest for the good of his long term future.

| Do you think that they chose to play injured rather than let the club down unfortunately it backfired and ended with us left short of replacements leading to further fatigue. That can't be correct of course because that suggests loyalty and a desire not to let the team down when in fact to some of you they are an embarrassment to the shirt.
We have a small first team squad, players are more likely to volunteer to play when not fully fit. We let three players go out on loan to keep them match fit because the league no longer operate a second team. I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing but not something any of us possess.

| I'm darn London for a few days with work so missed the game and haven't had chance to comment anyway.
To get walloped by so many is embarrassing of course and even I am starting to doubt the team and coach but I still think stability and support is important to this tram this season.
The point to me now is to try and find a way forward rather than finding someone to blame.
I really don't think Agar is the issue.
It's ironic that many of those more creative in their blaming of Agar were also saying we should target the league and let this game go. I remember saying be careful what you wish for.....
I predicted a straight off that the team would get better with time and would shock some teams.
I still believe it, but it's getting harder to be optimistic.
So I don't blame Agar, and even more so don't want to change for most of the names mentioned, but it is his responsibility to get them playing at their best and I hope he finds the way soon.

Actually quite a few on here questioned the wisdom of letting them all go on loan at once, especially during such a busy period of the season, but don't let that stop your sickly holier than thou attitude.
