| As much as it pained me watching our team lose an 18 points lead yesterday, and as much as I despair at most of our plays, and in the frustration of the moment I think CC should leave, I didn’t see him drop the ball from the GLDO, which started the giants revival, I didn’t see him mess up trying to pick the ball up the knock it over his try line then pass it to a giants player to score, all the other mistakes the players on the field make. I agree with his criticism of players, I don’t think some of them are good enough, I believe some of them don’t have Trinity at heart, and should be released. None of us are privy to what goes on in the dressing room, on the training field or the social life of the players. Only the Coaching staff have that information.
I don’t know if CC will leave/be sacked, sometimes I think he should, but as supporters, we have to back the club
I think we will end up in the second tier if it’s 2x 10 league, depending on CC recruitment for next year. I will be disappointed if that happened, but I will still be a supporter, as I’m sure many others will be, it’s in the blood.

Yes plenty of stick but after all that he did return. So why not return again.
In all fairness though I dont think he sees himself at the sharp end anymore. Director of rugby is the role he prefers these days

| Kear or Ward for me.
Ward got a lot out of a group that were really a good Championship squad by getting them fit and by making it look like they were enjoying themselves. He proved himself, in my view, given the talent he had at his disposal.
We've gone downhill since Kear left, and it is hard not to wonder whether in reality it was a Kear-coached side that did so well. Any coach with Chester's record over three seasons would have gone. I can understand that the club would be reluctant to sack him if there is no relegation, as there wasn't last year, as it would cost money, but to reward performances that are way below our squad quality, and have been for a long time, with a new contract would be plain bizarre.

| The point is quite simply this, If Chester is the coach at Wakefield Trinity next season, we will be relegated.
In the press today Chester is yet again saying we need a mass overhaul and that the players (his signings) just aren't good enough, he said exactly the same thing last season! And something similar the year before?

In other words, "these guys won't play for me".
And the new guys would? He's done, for me. I just can't muster any enthusiasm for our prospects.
Losing the dressing room is one thing. Losing the terraces is another.
Not sacking? Yeah, I get that.
Giving a new contract? Bizarre, if it happens. A long suicide note for the club.

No it didn't, we looked brilliant in some games long after Smith had left. However it's immaterial because I think we all pretty much agree Chester needs to go even his previously staunch fans.

Couldn't agree more with that. For me one of the biggest crimes of all is our woeful underuse of the best player we have had in SL or will have again for years, instead having him spending his days driving the ball out of his own 20. Criminal

Right OK then.'"

Pretty sad if you ask me.

Your insinuation is that Danny Ward hasn't proved to be any better than Chris Chester. You then suggested James Ford as an option if we are going unproven English. That isn't aiming higher, it would actually be going in the other direction. Do you see the contradiction or do you need further help?

I’m not knocking you DS but this is what’s peeing me off. As a club we seem to be happy with mediocrity (if we’re lucky). We’ve had a couple of goodish seasons by our standards but generally we seem content to be scrabbling around in the bottom half and rejoice if we just avoid relegation. The club seems to have no ambition. We’re like the team on the field, unable to build any pressure, no progress from year to year. A poster in the Guardian this morning likened us to, “the turd that Super League can’t seem to flush away”. You have to be a masochist to support Trinity but there comes a point when the pain and disappointment just becomes too much. I'll support Trinity whatever division they’re in but I want them to be in the top flight and I get frustrated and angry when the powers that be either don’t see the iceberg heading our way or seem to think (against all the evidence) that the boss is capable of steering around it.

It is what it is, at times like this folk wanna come on here and vent their frustrations as with Covid there’s no chance of any supporters meetings, although I suspect without COVID we wouldn’t be having one with things as they are.
Some posters have been negative about Chester and Carter for ages and guess what, it appears they were bang on the money.

| The fans have generally given Carter a get out of jail card but I think things may be changing. Carter's sat back and let Chester carry the can without any criticism aimed at himself.
Chesters been a god send for Carter he just gets on with things while working with a totally crap budget.
I feel sure should someone else take over they would demand more money before taking control.
That raises the question, why doesn't Carter give Chester a super league budget.

Not really, things change over time and with my untrained know nothing eye, other than this (admittedly big) blind spot Carter seems to have with Chester it looks like he's done a very good job with little resource and lots of extenuating circumstances. Chester should have gone a while ago imo but I find it hard to criticise Carter too much in the circs overall

It's not like we haven't spent money and in the grand scheme of things he's probably had as much as most of our other coaches. Money doesn't grow on trees does it. We have good enough players to do better is the long and short of it and because of that this is more a Chester issue imo

Unfortunately PT can`t use that narrative against me, I have been so called "Negative" as he calls it regarding Chester for some time now, even in victory, like against Wigan. It`s not been negative, its actually just the truth as I see it right in front of my eyes and as you say as it becomes more and more apparent, more posters and fans will point that out in frustration, I think that`s quite obvious.

Carter has admitted previously that we are spending more than we ever have done before in superleague, i can’t criticise him for making as many funds as possible available to the coach. Problem is the performances don’t match that outlay and he has/is letting things ride too long. Long term damage is being done right in front of our eyes, at least the ones that aren’t too blind to see it.

When I was a driver I used to work for an Ex Barnsley footballer called Duncan Sharp, I had a fall out with him and called him a nasty name, Sharpy said that's nowt squire when I was playing I've had as many as 20k calling me worse than that, to which I replied aye and they can't all have been wrong, just saying like, don't think he's enemy number 1, it's just a very strong tide he's swimming against at the moment.
