| After reading the RFL's "reasoning" behind their decision regarding Scott Moore, I am fully behind Koukash and hope whatever he has on the RFL brings it all down. They can only push the fans so far before I can see things get really out of control

As I have stated elsewhere, its the hidden (or not so hidden) agenda of MK that we, as a club, don't want ie the smashing of the salary cap. We haven't caught up with the current one yet!

| I do agree here with a lot that the good doctor is saying, and think it is about time that a chairman has stood up to the RFL, other than those chairman and CEO's that aren't up their backsides.
However, to increase the cap in the way he is saying I think is a little off the mark. There is no way we could match that sort of finance, and I think a lot of other existsting super league clubs would also struggle Some of the points I would address are as follows.
Allowing clubs to question referring calls after games without the risk of a fine, provided it isnt instantly after a game has finished, and the complaint has to be in writing from someone other than the coach.
The whole vidoe ref idea is a farce, as there are certain teams who seem to be getting the benefit of this nearly every week, whilst other clubs like us, have only had that once so far this year. It should be all games or none at all. At the end of the day if all games are reviewed by the panel anyway, all games are filmed. I also think that the idea of not referring forward passes is also ludicrous, they say it is hard to prove, but yet TV pundits seem to know what one is.
Some teams bemoaned that there were too many games, so they amended SL from 14 to 12, but with the new concept, teams play more games anyway now, with 23 weekly rounds and then the super/middle 8's takes this up to 30. Also we now have the top 3 competing for the world club challenge. This is also a farce, given the one sided games we have had so far.
Once final point to look at for me, would be the international calendar. I think the 4 nations should be looked at. At the moment, we are a very poor 3rd best. I think we should go back to GB, and have test series like we used to, against Australia and New Zealand. The 4 nations could stay, but be for more the emerging nations and maybe increase it from say 4 to 8.
On a final point, I am all for spreading our game, but i think we should concentrate on helping the 4 relatively new clubs, both on and off the field, rather than setting up any new franchises at the moment, not to mention continue to add support to grass root levels.

| I would hope that we (including the club) don't take our anger at the recent disciplinary decisions as reason to support MarwanK with his latest attention-seeking rant; it's as plain as the nose on your face that what he really wants, is the ability to use his personal wealth to buy success for Salford, and balls to the greater good of the competition or the sport - a sport which he has no real appreciation for other than as a very wealthy fan.
That said, I wouldn't disagree that the RFL needs new leadership - Big Nige is there by default, having earned his stripes in the high-flying executive suite of Halifax RLFC; he is parochial, short-termist and lacks vision, that much is clear. If there is any mechanism to 'vote him out' - which seems an odd concept anyway - then it's not MarwanK's responsibility to replace him or suggest an alternative - it would be for the RFL to recruit a new CEO; and there's no guarantee that a new CEO would automatically scrap the SC - which would be a disaster for all but 2 or 3 clubs.

| I agree.
Being a bit pee'd off with the RFL disciplinary is no reason to throw your bag in with a crazy guy wanting to burn the house down.
He isn't the guy to lead the way.

In fairness to him, he doesn't seem to be suggesting that he is; and I don't think it's his responsibility to do so - you can be hacked off with your leadership, without having to put your hand up to take over.
But - if the updates from the press conference are accurate, he's just back to his old ways of unfocused ranting and wild accusations; if there was any support for a bloodless coup at Red Hall, he's probably just lost it, which seems appropriate, because that's exactly what he does whenever he's faced with a microphone and a few journos.

| Quote ="PHe"If the cap had risen year on year in line with inflation then the players agents/negotiators would retort - because you, as a club, have had an increase in the salary cap ie an inflation adjustment, then this same 'inflation' has affected my player in the same way and he would like the inflation adjustment 'given' to you by the governing body.
In short the inflation adjustment would be eaten up by the current players and thus there would not be any more dosh to spend on 'new' players, who would probably be overseas players with even bigger wage demands.'"
That's already happening and is the.primary reason that the overall quality in super league is down. Every teams fitst 17 is similar and any team can beat anyone, in an ideal world. But many teams cannot cope with one or two losses widnes lost brown.n couldn't buy a win!! Wigan potential grand finalist lose few players n are getting 40 n 50 points put part em last year's treble winners lose 3 players and struggling at the bottom, the cap has resulted in mediocracy in the rest of the squad.
read an article the other day comparing the Leeds team of 2014 to the Wigan team of their peak. Adjusted for inflation, the side Wigan won the WCC in brisbane with cost about twice (in wages) what the 2014 leeds side cost in wages.
The facts are that whilst this cap remains quality will not improve giving no reason for outside investors to invest no lea way in negotiating better tv deals,
For those who say shouldn't rise as you are still jot spending full cap that's utter garbage u get that 1.8m from rights to not spend it is a choice or due to havingv2 pay debts not somthing that the sport should suffer for.??

| Things must have changed then in the 3 or so years since I worked within a Super League club.
Back then the cap limit was I think 1.65million, and the money handed out was about 1 million.
There was a short fall at the time that had to be found. Extensively increasing the cap would be damaging to some clubs.
If anything is required, maybe a tweak.
It is hard to match the Australians on this one, as most other professions in Australia are significantly higher paid than what they are over here.

All of which ignores the positive impact a SC has on uncertainty of outcome, which is the key metric for maintaining spectator interest in a sport over the long term; I'm not suggesting that the SC shouldn't be reviewed so it's in line with inflation, but to get rid of it altogether would see the same 4 clubs competing for honours, whilst the rest whither and die.
And on the issue of Koukash - I tried to be moderate - but it seems that later in the press event, he revealed his true intentions; a breakaway league, run by SL chairmen. Anyone supporting that notion is as bonkers as MarwanK.
