The blokes bragged about coaching Jason Robinson and Paul Newlove but we've only got his word for that, even then there's a big difference between coaching those lads and just being there on the sidelines wearing a club jacket and standing about with your hands in your pockets watching while someone who really knows what they're doing does the actual coaching. Maybe he's telling the truth but how long ago was that 30 years ago, the games moved on and he's been left behind which explains his bitterness and his eagerness to tell everyone how good he was and how much better he is than the rest of us

Did you know me and Ellery Hanley are the same age exactly, both born on the same day. As a schoolboy I almost certainly played against him though I can't be sure because he wasn't famous then. That means that I know everything there is to know about being a top RL Pro and legend - well that's how Tryscorer would see it.

Truth is nobody could know as much as he claims even if they were telling the truth - because unless he's in Agars head or in the team or can see the future then it's not possible for anyone, reputable or not.

Seems unlikely,not sure Hanley attended school that much,preferred extra cirricuclar activities.

I put that it was just being interested in the on field players and not the off field technicalities that nearly got us in to trouble. That wasn't implying that it was you that had got us into trouble was it? We need to get the off field right so that the books balance and the on field will find it's natural place from that. Is that clear?

The team I played in from 1972 to 1976 we're never beaten, then again, it doesn't really matter.

Did you go to Kings school in Pontefract cos if you put 50 a team it will have been my year at the team one below BB we didnt win many and got a few thrashings one I remember well was 48-0 by King School.

No I went to kettlethrpe high.... We had a weird season... Unbeaten at home... Couldn't win away... We played Normy at home, and we stunned ourselves at the result. Final year at o level. The only year I kept a diary... Til my sister read it... Then I stopped... Even then there were things that sisters shouldn't know.

Did Ben Shulver go to Kettlethorpe High? Just wondering like.

I'm inclined to let the threads drift a bit but it's slow news at the moment so everyone drifts on to personal discussion.
