Although he finished the season strongly, Agar seemed to think that Mario was lazy at times, hence his loan to Fev earlier in the season.
We all want to see Walshaw Annakin and the other young lads develop and get to the point where they become the first names on the team sheet (after Kirmo)
We only get to see the players for 80 minutes each week, the coach sees them almost every day and the coming season will tell us plenty about Agars ability to judge players and coach the team.

When Ben was a bit younger he was the best leg tackler I have seen for quite a while , obviously as the game doesn’t require leg tackling any longer he doesn’t show it anymore , the worrying thing with Ben is where will he get game time this coming season. After RFAs public fall out with Doncaster we no longer have a dual register agreement .

Time such as wrenthorpe cat got rid of his starry eyed view of danny kirmond, I'll agree last year he had a great season, but he's got to maintain it this year,he's plenty of bottle but don't think he's got the skill levels to be put on a pedestal ,and I'm sorry in my humble opinion despite his all round work rate international quality he is not

I agree he is no SBW but Critics probably would have said that (I.e. Not international quality) about Ferres a couple of seasons ago when he played for Cas but now look at him having played in the World Cup Semi Final aswell as in a top SL team like Huddersfield who have the likes of Brough to enable others to excel.

So all Wrenthorpe has implied, not even said, is that he would pick Kirmond first.
Why pick that out? He doesn't have to be international quality to be our best.
And to be honest he doesn't even have to be the best player to be picked first.

As for Shulver I haven't seen him play but I'd like to see him do well, just because Agar thinks he's worth it and would be good for our future.

Agreed, best player or not he's certainly the most influential for Trinity. He leads by example, is tough and gives his absolute all. He's had two good seasons and was not too shaby in his loan spell at the club.

Can't believe it,having a pop at Kirmo who could be playing else where for a lot more money but showed loyalty to stay at Wakey.What next.

Kirmo may not be the flashiest of players but he put his body on the line every game last season and improved his game to another level. Was it against Salford when he ran back chasing one of their players and just missed out on smashing him behind the line?

IMO the secret to a winning side is to have a evenly balanced squad of flashy off the cuff match winners and grafters that give 100% every minute they are on the field. Kirmond falls in the latter and would be just as important to a teams success as the star name. Noble wanted kirmond but Wakey said no, so we went for another grafter in Hanson! These types of player are very important to a team. Look at Huddersfield! On one hand brough,Robinson, and on the other ferris, Crabtree etc. We all want a kirmond type player in our squad and the good thing for Wakey is that they kept theirs.

So saying he had a great season ,but not going overboard and pointing out he must repeat that level of form next year is having a pop and qualifies me to be an idiot eh, well I'm sorry never been an hero worshipper and don't intend to start now I say what I see and if some of you don't like it that's tough that's my opinion I remove the humble seeing somebody took the Micky out of that .And I'm not agent I'm only interested in on the field matters and not the technicalities of the running of the club

What you did was on a discussion about another player start picking fault.....with both a poster and Kirmond.
Of course Kirmond has to play well again to be well regarded. So did David Topliss and Wally Lewis. But to raise it out of the blue accusing someone of having rose tinted glasses for implying he is a key player for us implies that you are casting doubt on that......otherwise why say it.

As it happens I don't agree with you on this one, I feel you're now revelling in your anti hero status and attention seeking by degrading a player for the sake of it.

For me Kirmond is right up there and if anything he had a better 2012 than 2013 so he has been very consistent for a while now.

Ben Westwood is a GB international yet plays an almost identical game to DK - though he scores less tries (I think). I like Ben but I see him as no better than Kirmond, hence DK is international class IMO - or - Ben isn't - you choose.

Finally Kirmond has a little trick to his game that few other S/R do, he can kick in open play and from memory has created at least two tries from doing so - so hardly a player without skill.

I think DK has been consistently brilliant since he's been back at Wakefield, over the past 2 seasons - In fact I'd even say he performed better in 12 than he did last season - it's not a starry eyed view when a poster is saying they hope the next generation can turn out like Danny has done over the past couple of seasons.

Brian Noble and Tony smith - probably the 2 best rated coaches in SL in terms of success - all had Danny down in there plans for next season and both clubs were chasing and chasing - From what I see at current DK is one of the best second rowers in SL
