It's a community stadium being built for the Wakefield community, not a SL stadium for WTW.
WTW with be the anchor tenants, there is a possibility that other sporting teams will be secondary tenants on the complex as the stadium isn't the only thing being built, there will be other sporting/training & educational facilities on the site.
May I respectfully request that you check facts before posting inaccuracies such as this. HTH
'"
As you obviously have no idea about how the funding for the project works let me explain. Trust me it is an area I have knowledge in.
It is a community stadium being partly built with grant funding and every penny of this funding had to be fully justified to be obtained. Every single extra seat built into the stadium has a cost, as such the capacity of the build has to be justified in projected usage. As the main tenants our needs hold a lot of weight. If the projections state an expected superleague average of 10k+ (which with our recent rises in attendance and other teams large followings would be the case) then grants for the full size stadium can be justified and are likely to be awarded.
Should estimates be based on championship attendances of 3k+ then grants for the full size stadium cannot be justified by the awarding bodies and will be turned down in favour of a smaller build that could in theory be extended at a later date.
The stadium company also have to submit a business plan to prove it can run it as a going concern and as anchor tenants we are central to that plan. Now all our applications have gone in with superleague income projections so we need that situation to remain the case until at the very least the grants are awarded and building commences otherwise we would have to re-apply and that would cause a whole world of problems. The education facilities and gym can still be built in a smaller capicity stadium providing their necessity can be proven .
So in short we could really do with being in superleague if we want the full size stdium straight away otherwise it would highly likely be a smaller project. These things are a complicated myriad of tall fences and pitfalls, hence why they take so long to come to fruition. But ultimately, like most things, it comes down to brass.
HTH.

So I take t you can't
For someone who begs for trust as "it is an area you have knowledge in" you have not shown me any confirmation.
Shame as your posts seem constructed well, just lacking in that crucial area of actual and factual detail

Fair to say the quality this forum has followed the path of the club in recent times and has headed down the swanny. Its a case of woe betide anyone who doesn't toe the party line and it's getting very tiresome.

| Well we are a SL club and we are a SL club next year so it will be sorted surely funding can't be affected for what might happen. Plus heard SL clubs are wanting increase minimum standards as part of SL restructure so NM is more important than ever.

So why does the developer need council agreement?
Who is underwriting the cost of the build?
Ditto the cost of running it?

As far as I'm aware
Council agreement as part of the planning agreement
The developer and grants it's part of a massive development and other projects maybe incorporated into the stadium.
The Wakefield Community Trust is running it headed by Sir Rodney Walker

When somebody wants to build something they need permission from the local authority.
The developer, grants from various bodies and if it's still on the table a contribution from the council.
The Wakefield Community Trust.

| At the recent meeting with Mr Carter it was asked (by Mr Carter) who was for a move to Newmarket or who was for staying at Belle Vue, i would estimate approximately half in favour of staying at Belle Vue. The people attending these meetings are our hard core supporters if they are not convinced then what chance have we of getting new fans to the ground.
Is it too late for a plan B or C we have waited this long would it harm to wait longer and get it right. I have reservations over the location it is a Leeds post code. I would like to see Wakefield keep its identity and not become another superb of Leeds.
I am not sure it would attract the away fans who would maybe attend the first time out of curiosity. The best away days for me are where we park up in town have a few drinks, some thing to eat and then have a walk to the ground this wouldn't be possible on an industrial estate a couple of miles out of Wakefield
Or is it too late

| I'm not asking who is supplying the money to build it, or who is running it
Underwriting is, who is guaranteeing it
The LSV was totally grant funded, but the council had to agree to underwrite it before it could start
A community trust runs the LSV, but that trust is underwritten by the council
So this is essentially the same?
To get something like this built requires ' somebody ' to guarantee it will be finished and the bills will be paid, I doubt the developer will do that ,or the Trust which has no substantial funds

This is exactly my point, what is being suggested is a massive change of your very culture ,yes the ' Prawn Sandwich ' brigade will be happy ( although maybe not the cost ) to have a nice shiney new box or corporate suite away from the riff raff , but unless massive marketing is done to attract new fans it could be a disaster for the club
Everybody quotes Warrington as the success story , but their move was still very much within the town centre, so as you suggest the meet up, call for a beer, walk home match day didnt change much
You will only ever hear the best case scenario from those involved, maybe the worst case scenario should be the starting point, then a more realistic idea of where you will be starting from will focus all involved to how much work will be involved after it is built to be a success
I'll leave you alone, I dont want rebel rebel getting upset again

The best location by far would've been Thornes Park. It was an opportunity missed, although I conceded the costs ballooned so much to make it unviable.
Trinity don't have much option here. They are renting BV and responsible for its maintenance. It's land locked so development would prove difficult and costly, ands that's assuming they could afford the 1m or so to buy it back. No one else has stepped forward to provide new facilities for the club within the city limits so there isn't an alternative closer to town.
