Quote ="Dreamer"I don't like slating the team and still feel disappointed, the expectation before the match was that the release of pressure from knowing we have qualified might bring out some flowing rugby. Sadly not! It looked like the team didn't know each other.
Shickell's break and twinkle toed pass to Sam for him to go in under the posts was the sort of rugby we can play, and young Sheriffe's one man tackle and rag doll throw into touch of their winger was the attitude I expected from the rest of the team. Felt sorry for Smith, he clearly isn't a full back.
Two "ordinary" teams playing to a crowd of just over 500 -YES 500!!! How the hell do Swinton manage on that AND have to pay someone else's stadium management fee
Hey ho, that's been the ups and downs of watching Cougars for the last few years, it will be just like us to beat Leigh now ([iplease[/i)
JD still has a job to do and I hope he motivates the team to make a fist of it against Leigh and wants to go out with a roar rather than a whimper.'"
Dreamer i agree totally with your post , im a Leyther and was at the game yesterday , i felt both teams were very poor , though Swinton were missing a couple of front line players .
Having said that the Cougars fans were very vocal
and never stopped cheering your team on , i know you can play better than that , hopefully not on thursday though
.
Again i agree about the crowd , 500 how Swinton survive its beyond me ,they must pay not far off the rent we pay at the LSV , and we have been told we need crowds of 1800 to break even
, Swinton may have problems soon .
