| Cant see a thread anywhere, for such a massive sporting event !!
Sharapova up soon....
Wozniacki through in straight sets, Serena through after a slight struggle 2-1.
Big shock in the womens event with the well fancied Samantha Stosur who went well at Eastbourne getting absolutely smashed by Melinda Czink, currently 3-6 1-4.

The BBC seem to think it's the most important sporting event in the world behind the Olympics, Football and Rugby Union world cups. I was nearly sick on my weetabix when I heard that this morning. I hate tennis.

| Ooh... didnt realise all the negativity over such a great sporting event !!
Oh well, rain ruined much of the afternoon, but play is about to begin now. Heather Watson and Laura Robson flying the flag for the Brits today, along with Andy Murray later on.
Top totty trio (Sharapova, Ivanovic & Wozniacki) all through last night.

I love it mate. I'm a a big tennis fan and for me it doesn't come much bigger than this. Just sat through 3 hours of Date-Krum v Williams, brilliant match. Quality of tennis was up there with the best, be hard for a match to beat that.
Heather Watson playing really well here, I hope her and Laura Robson make it because it's criminal the best ladies player we have is Baltacha.

She played really well tonight, very impressed. That game to set up a tie break and the last set where brilliant, she'll struggle to cope with Sharapova tomorrow but she'll give her a game if she plays like tonight.

She's a media dream her, bizarre dress sense (what was with those socks) and she loves a good moan too

| The Williams match was a belter!
Really good to Robson get the win and felt very sorry for Watson, two real hopes for womens tennis in Britain.
Nice and comfortable for Murray, Lubicic next.

Watson was really unlucky, there's not much she can do with that injury, you could see the impact on her game almost straight away but she's got plenty of time ahead of her and finally we may see two really good womans tennis players, about someone knock Baltacha off number one spot.

| Its looking like Sharapova's to lose in the womens.
Looked at backing Bartoli today at 7/2 against Serena but I despise Bartoli with a passion (maybe its her constant swinging and moving inbetween points that riles me to death).
And a nice 6 timer was let down by Tomas Berdych getting walloped by Mardy Fish.. oh well, theres always tomorrow !

| Went for a nap and didn't expect that whatsoever. Fair play to Tsonga, he has beaten both Nadal and Federer on grass within the past few weeks, I'll have to start giving him more credit.

| Two really good semi finals in store. It should be a Nadal - Djokovic final but Murray and Tsonga are both capable of beating their men. Don't think either game will be done in straight sets.

| Sharapova v Lisicki today will be rather nice on the eye
With regard to Murrey I can't see him getting past Nedal and if he does he will just get tanked by Djokovic in a final again.

| Neither Nadal or Djokovic have played particularly brilliantly this tournament so Murray IMO has a better chance of beating one or both of them. He'll still get labelled a "choker" and get the usual "ooh he's sh.it" comments if he does lose to either of them though even though he's ranked below them both. It's the British way.

And rightly so! You state yourself that he has a better chance of beating either of them this year as they haven't played well so far - so if he doesn't beat them, surely he has choked, again, in the face of a grand slam victory when it seems chances of winning are better than losing???
